Air conditioning compressor cycling

Computer shuts off compressor under hard acceleration. I’ve heard other cars that did this too. Might be for power or to protect compressor from too much rpm.

Should not shut off on deceleration

Interesting! Thanks for the info. Not only does mine briefly shut off during acceleration, but also at deceleration or sometimes just sitting at a red light. This is my 22nd vehicle and 7th Jeep and I’ve never had this issue. Hell, my first car was an 81 Rabbit and the ac worked fine in it.

I kind of thought that was common in vehicles. My 2015 GMC and my 2011 Tahoe did it.

The shutoff on hard acceleration, I think, is normal, but not on deceleration. Compressor cycling is normal. I have come to conclusion that my ac behavior is normal and it really works great. Cools vehicle down quickly on hot day and stays cold. Compressor cycles more frequently as idle that other vehicles I've had, but I don't pay it any attention anymore. I've never noticed mine shutting off at any time other than normal cycling or hard acceleration.

I can't wrap my brain around any reason for it to shut off or blow warm on deceleration.

I have to agree with others, mine would blow warmer air, for a bit, on deceleration as well. did not get the chance to figure out why.
