392 order pending

Yup! You are correct. Once you set up the order with the dealer, and select your options, they will tell you that XRs are gone for the 392. They are being held for the 20th anniversary which will be out with 37s on the V6 twin turbo.

I never keep my jeeps stock anyways so my advice to anyone that is bummed about the XR not being available, do what I am doing and make it better with the 4k you are saving. Apply that 4k towards a regear to 5.13s and drop 38s or 39s with CM axles. 💪🏼😎
I too ordered a non-XR and was bummed about it, but I plan on doing the same thing as you are building bigger, badder, better XR. It’s just a shame all 392’s should have came with 35’s at a minimum. This will be my 3rd jeep I’m selling my 2012 JKU on 35’s and going with 37’s and eventually regearing thinking 4.88. I’m still keeping my old 1990 YJ because the squares are rare and it’s just too much fun driving.

I'm glad the 392 fit also. Not sure how accurate this site is but read this recently: https://www.motorbiscuit.com/is-the-jeep-wrangler-getting-a-new-i6-engine/
That article was pretty interesting. It’s hard to say, automakers don’t really speculate but the fact that somebody internal at Stellantis stated that the new V6TT will be getting it because it, just makes sense especially after the target being the Ford bronco.
I remember before the 392 came out, there was an official post that the wrangler would never get a V8.

That new V6TT will be powerful but I am old school motorhead. My brain needs that MOPAR Hemi!

We are better off regearing to accommodate larger than 37’s (for those wanting bigger) and saving the 4k XR money towards building big. Either way, “it’s got a HEMI!!!”

YJs are fun. Nice rig

A few years back I wanted a Raptor, but they switched to the 3.5TT and it just didn't sound the same anymore.

Yeah, that Raptor did not sound good. Glad they brought back the V8.

To be completely honest, If Ford would have put a solid front diff and dropped a Coyote V8 in a 2 door Bronco, I would have been all over that.

Glad I went with the 392.

And don't forget 8.6 million recalls this year for FORD. Just saying.
Haha. I have been a Jeep owner and a Ford classic Bronco owner for years. I don’t buy Jeeps or Ford because of reliability, I buy them becuase they are fun.

If I wanted something boring and reliable, I’d buy a Toyota Camry.

Haha good answer....I would do the same, but never liked FORD. Fun for me is a pair of Ducati, Harley and ATV, Jiu Jitsu and Firearms.

Haha good answer. Still, 8.6 million recalls from FORD.
My fun is a pair of Ducati, Harley and ATV, Jiu Jitsu and Firearms, all of that while using Jeep Wrangler without any issues on my 5th Wrangler now still waiting tho for my 392XR. Fun and reliabilty is a pair. Fun without quality machines will break easily. Then, no fun at all. But, your money your own happiness.

It’s all what you like. Some Jeeps have been reliable, some haven’t.

My last JK was a mess. Countless major parts replaced under warranty within the first 6 months of ownership. Buddy just bought a JT Diesel and nothing but problems. I am sure we all have stories. Jeeps are just a Religion. You either are hardcore about them or not. One thing though, they sure get us away from all the daily BS of life and put a smile on our face.

This will be my 4th Jeep. People ask me why if I have had so many issues with them…. Simple answer, “it’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.”

Sounds like you have a lot of cool toys and the space for them. Firearms, yeah, that’s a must for all of us.

How long have you been waiting to on your Jeep XR? When did you order.

Yes Sir! It is a Jeep thing lol. I gave up waiting since 1st week of June. I've been ordering small parts for it that I thought should've been included from Mopar, just to keep myself busy and not to think about the arrival too much. It got stuck on status JB since 2 weeks ago. They said the package and options I ordered might be the reason for taking so long. Probably the half doors premium and SOT especially. I went all out and checked every possible options available.

Nice! I kinda regret not doing the half doors. But I guess I can order them anytime. I didn’t do the XR at first becuase I missed the deadline. Now, I am kinda glad I didn’t get it because I will have to regear anyways and I don’t want any tires small than 38’s. So, I guess I’ll apply that 4k XR saving to my parts I already have ordered and on hand. It’s going to be an expensive parts bill but, F it. We all have to be nutz in the first place buying a 100k jeep. 😎

Haha yup, man and his toys. I'd love to see that rig on 38s. That will look awesome.

Factory half doors can only be ordered new with the vehicle. And depending on color, maybe not at all.

Oh Wow! I'm glad I included mine. I'm sure there are other options out there. I just like that factory look. Thanks for the info.

A lot of people buy them on the open market from people who ordered them and have them repainted if need be.

My guess for the XR option being removed from 392 orders is because the High Tide is coming back. The same thing happened last year, 392 lost XR a few months later High Tide released. High Tide comes standard with XR so they are saving parts. I also missed out on XR but not a deal breaker for me.

Makes sense. The only thing I regret is not getting the half door. The XR is not a big deal as I will be regearing bigger and bigger tires.
