37” tires

So if I'm understanding this thread, I should be able to combine 20 X 18 with -18 offset wheel, with a Nitto tire size of 37 or 38 inchs on my wifes soon to be 392 WITHOUT having to add a lift. Also understanding that while driving on straight and level pavement I wont have any rub.

Are those statements correct?

Lastly if that is correct, would I be able to fit 40 inch tires without a lift, or is that pushing it?
18” w/35” is what I’m moving. I tried 37” without a lift and they did not fit. If you go 40”, a lift is just the start of your worries.

I run 37x13.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 20x10 -18 offset Fuel Rebels. The only rubbing was the front side of the REAR inner fender on large dips in the road with extra weight or people in my Jeep. I had already planned a full fender chop with inner fenders all around. No rubbing now. I would say yes to your statement but Plenty extra weight will rub your rear inner fenders at times.

I had similar issues off road only with 37s on stock wheels with spacers, the rear inner liner was making contact with the tire with sway bars disconnected. My solution was to add 3/4 inch spring spacers to front and rear instead of chopping my fenders/removing the liners. I also added some additional bump stops in the rear. No issues since then - even while off road.
