2,404 Miles...Lots of Oil Leaking

We just bought our 2023 in November. Took it in for a small oil leak. It's been at the dealer since early January waiting on the engine oil cooler, which they said would be available today (1/29/25). Just got a call that they will not have the part until 2/17. If we pick it up they will void our warranty.
I would call Jeep custom care and file a claim so Jeep can see there is an issue with theses 392’s leaking and not enough parts in the supply chain to fix the issue. I’m still waiting for an oil filter adapter.

So frustrating. I am at day 51 since my leak started. I only drove it to the dealership and back home. It's been parked since.

I have been getting the run around from @JeepCares. I've tried reaching out to Brandon Girmus (Senior Brand Manager), no luck yet.

Curious, how many miles do you have on your Jeep?

I gave up calling the dealership and asking the status. I would get a weekly call from Jeep Cares that the part is coming, then call my SA and he looked it up and says, no its not. After a few weeks of this game, I just quit checking. Jeep Cares stopped calling me each week at this point too.

My Jeep is at least tucked away safely in my garage. I would not be happy with it sitting god knows where at the dealership. Void your warranty if you took YOUR Jeep home, I call BS. I'd bring a trailer then and take it home. At the rate its going, it could be another month or more. I've heard others have been waiting longer, so I don't know if they go down the list in the order received or not. Wow!

If and when these do come back in stock, does a guy by a spare one, they are only like $225??

Yes, mine was the 53011496AD, Oil Filter Adapter. It took 3 months to get the part and get it fixed.

Jeep did compensate us with a check for those 3 months. I took part of the money and purchased MaxCare, 8yr/85,000-mile warranty extension. The 8yrs will runout before I get close to 85,000 miles, so it was the best bang for the buck.

Is yours leaking?

I just picked up mine used last week, it's a 2022 with 25K miles. Mine is not leaking I just checked. It looks done dry with no signs of any issues. However, I normally buy parts known to fail for my Jeeps. Just to have them on hand in case something happens.

That part looks like an L shaped bracket? And some of the part numbers listed are discontinued? Do you have a picture of the actual part or parts that failed? Thanks

I don't have any failure now but want to make sure I get the correct part for "just in case"

Same here I just would like to know what part is failing . The part listed is just a bracket ? Maybe OP can clarify. Also says fits 2021 and 2022 thanks

That site seems to have a strange picture until you scroll over in pictures. It's over $200 so no way it's just that L bracket. I have looked at other sites that have the full correct picture.

Ok thanks must be the whole thing

Ok that makes sense . I wonder if they crack or warp ,def gasket or o ring . Says it fits 21 and22 wonder if 23-24 are a different design. I like to have spare radiator hoses as well but they’re is too many different ones it’s crazy.

This part is not really a failure part. And I imagine the difference is that they removed/changed some of the adaptability of the housing. The problem with the earlier version was the additional “plugs” were not tight and they leaked. You can remove the housing and tighten down the plugs. The plugs in my 21 were barely finger tight. That engine gets put into many platforms. So the plugs get pulled sometimes to put in other coolant lines or moved from one location to another. The shops simply replace parts, not fix problems. Worse case you would need to replace the O-rings for the adapter. Those are cheap. I think I paid less than $10.

Ha!, not to laugh but... This is different than the issue by the OP... Thats an Engine Oil Filter Housing thing...

I have had the same issue you have in which they removed, repaired and eventually replaced my transmission 3 times. It is an anomaly with the at least all of the 2024 392 FEs and the ZF Transmission because each time the dealer removed and reinstalled my transmission troubleshooting, it dripped again when they were done. All three of my dealers 392 FE's on the lot had the same drip. Now after the last new transmission replacement, it stopped after 1500 miles of driving even though the new transmission also dripped when replaced. It was not oil coating on a part, it was ZF Transmission fluid as it will slowly get clearer with a green hue. It will glow with a black light. The drip, after cleaning several times, will eventually just hang off of the R/H Lug of the transmission lower Bell Housing until it stops because that is the lowest part of the transmission Support Cover.

See my original post.

My advice from all my drama is to clean it off a few times and wait till about 2500 miles. It should stop...I will say that because of this, Jeep Cares gave me a Max Care 8 year 85000 zero deductible warranty for free, and also and other considertion$ as my Jeep was in and out of the shop until I finally stopped going. They, (STAR Team) did not say it was an anomaly or anything, but that the Transmission needed to be replaced. I almost traded it until I saw it was a "thing", an anomaly, and it eventually stopped. Not a good thing for someone with OCD, lol... There are others that responded to my post with the same issue that has stopped.

It's a "thing", but not a "thing", according to the STAR Team at Jeep...lol
So the dealer believes they found the cause of the oil drip issue after removing the transmission. The dynamic Oil drips were due to the Upper Galley Plug being cross threaded (& not installed fully). See pictures of cross threaded Galley plug and other properly threaded Galley plug. You can see where the Oil was running down from the cross threaded plug. We haven't noticed any oil drips so far... Something else to check..
