Z Auto Tazer Pin Lock to Prevent Jeep Theft

So here's a question for anyone who may know. If you put a tazer mini on your 392 simply to get this pin lock feature, then had a warranty issue, will you get problems with the dealer or FCA? This seems far less invasive to the factory parts to install than say a Ravelco but its also capable of things like the forced rwd. I'm curious what would happen especially since we got a great deal on the 8yr mopar warranty extension.

it really depends on your service manager. When I pull in for routine stuff the manager always comes out to greet me. I see him do the same thing when the Hellcats etc pull in. I always ask if he wants me to unmarry the Tazer and he says no. I have 37s and it has been regeared hence the Tazer, so I’ve pretty much blown my warranty on axles and such already.

I always leave my Tazers installed when I’ve brought my Jeeps in for service, and they have never once questioned it. They know that everyone installs them for the tire size correction and regearing, etc.

• Added SGW disable option for those leaving Tazer in when using “mod friendly” dealers. This allows the dealer scan tool to work while the Tazer is installed.

If the dealership has to do a software update, is this still true? You can leave it installed?

It’s probably always best to uninstall it before the dealer does any updating. That being said, I don’t always think about it before taking my Jeeps in. I know I’ve gotten my Gladiator back from the dealer where the settings were reverted back to stock, and I had to reset the Tazer for the 40’s.

“It was discovered that there was an issue while entering a six digit pin using the Pin Lock feature. This issue has been resolved, please Clear your PIN before updating to this latest firmware (TaZer 2.5.7, TaZer DT 18.1.8, and JL Mini 11.4.2)

Issue with the Amber DRL dropping while using the turn signal with the TaZer DT is also resolved”

You can go in and just choose “clear pin”

I checked out the new update from Z Automotive with the Tazer JL to enable to the Pin Lock mode to help prevent theft of the Jeep Wrangler JL or JT. This allows you to activate a custom button pin that is required each time you start your Jeep, if you do not type in the pin code then the Jeep will activate the brakes and stop a potential theft from happening. If the thief tries to put the vehicle in drive it also activates the light show mode. And there is even a safety for if you get car jacked. Check out how it works here:

Hopefully installing the Tazer won't mess with the settings already in place after having a ProCal installed when my lift and tires were done.

I would probably uninstall the pro cal completely. The Tazer takes care of tires and gears also. No reason to chance confusing the computer anymore…just my 2 cents tho.
