I have added 50% windshield tint to my 392 and now my headlights flip on and off as I drive through shadows<>direct sunlight....
Anyone else have this issue?

I know it's the little sensor on top of the dash....
Is there any adjustment (by any method) to adjust the light level for turning on headlights?

Yeah it messing with your auto lights because you've darkened its input with the tint. The solution is to remove the tint.

good luck

Yeah - I already knew the window tint is causing the issue..... it's the fact that a 50% tint causes it on a bright sunny day, just going from sunshine to shadow of a tree.... seems a little too sensitive...

I've got 3 other vehicles (non-Jeep) that have the exact same windshield tint, and they don't have this issue... lights work as expected.

I like my headlights on all the time for safety reasons so I have the headlights on "auto" and then I put tape over the sensor. That way it always thinks it's dark. That would take care of the on/off scenario but your lights would be on all the time.

Good luck with a solution!

Except for the fact that it dims the dash lighting too low to see on an otherwise bright sunny day.... and if I turn up the brightness, then at night when it's dark, it'll blast the front seat...

Go back to the archaic manual mode.
I can't...... I'm mentally too set in my ways with every vehicle having auto headlights :)
I'd be one of those old guys driving at night with no lights on....
And I'm spoiled with the tinted windshield from both a heat/glare reduction aspect and with so many people driving with high beams on all the time... argh!

My plan (if I can't find a setting to change) is to take the lens off and drill a few tiny holes in it to see if allowing more light in will resolve the issue.... start with a couple up at the peak of the 'dome' and add a couple at a time to see if it helps... no big deal if it does nothing, can easily replace the lens.

I respect it haha.
I'm someone that likes having buttons to press, that tactile engagement with the vehicle. Good luck with your solutions.

Keep us posted with results.

I’m not against functioning the headlights myself but nice to see what solution you find.
