Why so many used 392 with low miles.

Sorry about your wife…..I have been married 42 years and would be lost without her ( but don’t tell her, I can’t lose hand).

Another reason for lower miles is a lot of us are still hybrid workers, so my 392 is sitting at 3,500 miles after 10 months.

I also bought from Mark Dodge, so you are in good hands.

Not my primary vehicle. I think I have 3k miles on my jeep now and its a 23.

Best friends is a great description and as best friends our world was very small and we enjoyed the hell out of it that way.
I totally got cheated! However I had the best life ever with an incredible woman named Michele. She was my somebody special and she made me her somebody special. I was truly blessed.
Very sorry for the loss, Scratch... loss in never easy particularly in your circumstance. Time, brother.... just time... and focusing on the decades of shared experiences and memories. It was mentioned previously but I do agree that pulling that trigger on the 392 is a great way to continue the journey in her honor... and she'll always be in the cab along side you. Perhaps your new rig found a new name when it gets dropped off, every Jeep needs a solid, meaningful, name.....

Congratulations on the order Scratch! You'll love the '24. I agree that those startups would remind you of her.

Sounds like she was great. Our best trips starting happening once we started taking 2 Jeeps on our trips. My wife is high strung and worries about things and is the best backseat driver in the world. I worry about almost nothing and am very laid back. Our wonderful trips would almost be ruined by arguing about how to drive on the way to and the way back from the destinations. I drive fast, she drives slow, I 100% use adaptive cruise, she hates any cruise control and varies her speed 15 mph. On one of our trips last year, I told her it would be more fun if we both had our own Jeeps, when we got to the destination, and she stated that it would be nice to drive the Jeep she is used to on the trails. We agreed to try two Jeeps. We also agreed on some trip rules. They main things were that I would only drive 5 mph the speed limit and she would keep up and we would stay in radio contact at all times. It was a game changer for us, she earned her first 3 BOHs on that first trip. Trips(we took 8 last year) became so much more fun and relaxing.

Even with fighting when we are in the same Jeep, I couldn't imagine living without her there. I would tell you that I am going to hug her tighter, when she gets home from work today, but she will probably yell at me about something before I do and then I won't...lol...

I sincerely hope you will quickly get to where you have more good hours than bad. Do things for yourself and keep the memories fresh knowing that this is what she would want. If you ever need a friend, I can be that person.

Bob, I hope this doesn't come out sounding wrong but this is not true AT ALL about buying a vehicle outside of California UNLESS it does not have California emissions. 99% of all vehicles (including motorcycles) now have 50 state emissions and the required California Emissions sticker the DMV is looking for.
This perpetual rumor or should I say lack of understanding has caused a lot of people to not make a great buy or should I say buying decision.
Correct...although this isnt clear on the DMV website and I have had issues at certain DMVs in the past. I have had to go to a different DMV and it all work out.

LOL!

Mine would still give me crap if walked by and didn't smack her rear. "Hey Hey did you forget something?"

She loved the sunrider top folded back while we were on the trail. She would stand up with her arms above her head.

Gentlemen,
I didn't mean to share all this. You guys have been therapy and given me some smiles. I can't tell you how nice that feels.
Hug your wife and maybe even a give her little smack on the rear.
It is amazing how fast life can change and we don't get a do over.
I truly appreciate the support.
You guys are awesome!

I will if she quits yelling at me...lol...

Thanks for sharing everything with us, I am glad it helped you a little bit.

Another reason so many low miles for sale is that due to the weight of the 392 it qualifies for full depreciation in one year. There are business owners who buy one, depreciate it, sell it the next year and buy another one. I think now the 392 is like the LJ when it first came out. A few years after production stops demand and scarcity might go up a bit.

I'm new to this community. Thank you everyone for the support.
It was not my intention for this post to go the way it did but I appreciate it.
Lots of great comments!
I spoke with @AnthonyRI this evening at Mark Dodge. He was super easy to deal with.
The order is in and now the wait begins.
Bob
So sorry for your loss Bob. God bless going forward, and enjoy that new 392!

Some were bought to flip for profit.

Others were bought by folks who didn't realize Jeeps are not as plush as standard SUVs. Road noise, fleeting steering, and somewhat harsh ride. Probably traded for a more traditional SUV.

Then you throw in general economic malaise and high gas prices, owning a 392 is a luxury for most folks.
This will be something I think My wife will realize after a few months...then well I will just have to keep the "hand me down" JL. While she go back to what she is used to driving...

The folks at Mark Dodge are a class act.
I bought my TRX from them and have my wife's 392 on order with them.
You will have no issues dealing with the folks at Mark CDJR. For me the pain point will be, again, driving it home ~180 miles and following the break-in procedure.

What is the break procedure for this beast?
