What to look for in a used 392?

Watch Mecum auto auctions! Color and serial number definitely matter!
In my humble opinion. The color is only as valuable as someone believes it to be. Someone might be willing to pay an astronomical amount of money for a certain color and other people wouldn't be willing to pay.. Everyone has their personal preferences.

I agree with you 100% @Ryeboy86, which is why I stated "...get what you like" in post #56.

@BL Beast, I'm not trying to offend you or argue with you, and yes, I have been to Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions. I have owned a lot of performance vehicles over the years (Mustang Cobra convertible, Mustang Bullitt (2001), Mustang GT500, Challenger Scat Pack 1320, Challenger Hellcat, and several Corvettes). While I agree that performance sells at a premium, my point was that a red interior will not likely bring a large premium on a Jeep Wrangler 392.
Not trying to offend you also. Just pointing out that the maroon interior will instantly mark the 24 as the premium 392 above all previous 392's produced. Interior of 24 Wrangler is sound reduced............... Corning glass windshield..................... No exterior antenna..................... Electric seats............... Most significant to me, frame design change .................... I only learned of the frame difference at the Jeep show in Tennessee after talking to engineers for Synergy........... That's why some parts, that attach directly to the frame, don't fit the 2024, 392. Steer Smarts and electric steps are an example of different frame design change on the 24. That may, in some way explain why the 24 drives and handles better than previous years. I'm sure there are others but these are the ones that stick out to me other than (safety) of side air bags on the 2024. After years of watching autos, from coast to coast at auction, color matters when it comes to sell. Auto manufacturers have spent TONS of money on market research, as what colors appeal to consumers. The results are Black White and Red exterior colors. The maroon interior goes well with the black , white and gray but not so much with other colors. They sell quickest and are easier to resale. I didn't marry my 392 and we all know there will come a time we will go our separate way. When that day arrives niche colors limit resales....................... If you look at production numbers alone, the maroon seat 24 will be the lowest, most rare 392 ever produced.

Maroon might be the lowest produced and rarest color.. However.. What if no one wants it? I get that they talked to people, probably their high end clients that get a new vehicle every year.. But to the average buyer.. I can almost bet that they'd prefer black interior.. If you plan on getting one with a maroon interior and parking it in the garage and putting no miles on it.. It can hold its "higher value".. But if you drive it a lot and take it offroad like its intended to be used.. You probably wouldn't get more on the resale end.. Food for thought.. LOL

It worked. I didn't want the red interior, so I spent more to order the Final Edition knowing that they were bringing it back in 2025. I liked the triple hoop steel bumper and the topo graphics on the FE as well.

If Stellantis keeps up the horrible management of CDJR, it will create an interesting collectors market. I'm out as I don't leave any vehicles stock.

I have a Black Wrangler 392 with the maroon interior so I guess that means I'm not average. Thank you!
