Other than the cabin being a bit smaller than my truck, I think the 392 is very comfortable. Now having said that I haven't taken any long trips yet but definitely plan to. Guess I'll find out....but for now I'm a happy camper.

@guruman I have considered the seat jackets, but also considered the seat slammers as I am 6’4”, but don’t like the idea of having to actually cut the seat rails to install the slammers. Since you like the seat jackers, if you dont mind how tall are you? Maybe just the jackers would be enough to provide that extra comfort you mentioned on the longer hauls.I added some seat jackers to mine to help with the seat base angles. Drove to Wyoming 21 hours each way, and spent all day in the Jeep numerous times while out there. I never wished it were any different. No issues, even on those 16 plus hour long days covering ground to get there and back.
I'm only 6 foot.... but I went with the full slammer on the drivers side as I had issues with the mirror hanging down into my line of sight. I hacked the mirror to fix it, but I thought the slammers might be beneficial, and they are.@guruman I have considered the seat jackets, but also considered the seat slammers as I am 6’4”, but don’t like the idea of having to actually cut the seat rails to install the slammers. It would be about 8 plus hours each way from KC for that test fit.I'm only 6 foot.... but I went with the full slammer on the drivers side as I had issues with the mirror hanging down into my line of sight. I hacked the mirror to fix it, but I thought the slammers might be beneficial, and they are.
The jackers alone do help to improve the seat angle by raising the front edge, helping to support your thighs a bit more. The slammer setup is both, it lowers the rear and raises the front. The rear drop has a decent effect on both head clearance, and visibility out the top of the glass.
I'm glad I did the slammers, as that extra bit of drop is just enough to make a difference.
You can test the jackers easy enough. I'd do that to see if it's enough for you. There is no real way to test the slammers, just just kind of have to commit. The only way to go back is a new seat base, or some crafty welding. I cut mine, and I'd do it again. So far it's the only permanent mod I've made to my 20a that I cannot easily undo.
If you were anywhere central Indiana, I'd let you come by and have a test fit.

I was going to say I just work here, but then I realized, I'm not getting paid.
I've got mine pretty dialed in for traveling with my wife and our two dogs.I'm about to take my 392 on it's first long haul to Florida from Indiana for Thanksgiving week. We previously took our BMW or the Grand Cherokee. We traded in the Cherokee for the 392 and we are bringing our dog. Comfort wise, I thought maybe to take my Rebel, but like others have said, I know I'd rather have the 392 once I get to the beach. Let you know how it goes.![]()
The plan is to put the luggage on the roof rack in the Rhino bag and lay the seats down so the pup has plenty of space. I will likely get a cargo liner along with his blankets. He doesn't shed much thank goodness. Those door covers however, WOW! Who knew. I definitely will look into getting those. Looks super simple and for reasonable $$. Thanks for the tip.I've got mine pretty dialed in for traveling with my wife and our two dogs.
Replacing the carpet with Armorlite and lining the entire cargo area really helped control the shed hair. There is no carpet anywhere anymore.
I fold the rear seats down, install a net that keeps them out of the front seats. I also install some door covers, but I found these that seem much better:

going to try those out before our next trip.
And I lined the entire cargo area with a cheap cargo liner from Amazon.
I also had a custom rear rack built with space underneath for both dogs, and a fold down platform to regain some of the cargo space I lose when taking the dogs. They get plenty of space, and I get plenty of cargo room.
I also have a removable rack that hangs on the spare tire that's perfect for a couple of fuel jugs or some additional storage boxes.
