Thinking of saying goodbye to my 392.

Thanks for your insights. There will be another Jeep in the garage in the not to distant future, but it WILL be a 2 door! I think the 392 option is great, but for me, needs to be with 2 less doors! This is the second 392 I am trading off. One of these days I will finally figure out that a Jeep by my definition has 2 doors and 3 pedals. If I want to go fast my C8 ZO6, which should land by mid June (finally), will scratch that itch. So today my Reign 392 leaves the stable. And I think, for now, that is a good thing.
This was my biggest concern when I bought the 392. I traded a 2 Dr, 6 speed 2019 Rubicon and was sure I would miss the manual. I have been thinking about getting another, but I do enjoy the 392 a great deal. I wish I could keep about six vehicles in the garage to suit my daily fancy...

I just did the same thing yesterday. Traded for a 1500 Denali Ultimate 6.2. It was a lot of fun, but the Jeepness wears on you quickly for any extended drives - especially as the weather heats up. Needed more frequent stops to stretch, kept sweating due to warm seats and inadequate air flow, poor road manners (but honestly not terrible), road/wind noise, etc.

I knew I was buying more of a toy than a daily (don't off-road, wanted the 392), but decide this was the better choice vs buying another vehicle to meet the requirements the Jeep was never designed for. Plus, I've been seeing market values dropping in the short term - likely due to increasing inventory, economy, and the 2024 refresh. And there's just not a huge market for these ridiculous beasts. I'm sure that will change when the 392 eventually goes away.

Either way, I look at as an experience, lots of fun, but time to move on. Good luck!
Inadequate air flow is right! I’m in Phoenix and the AC can’t keep up when it hits 100 degrees. All black interior with insulated hard top. I’m too old to drive in the heat with the windows down or doors off. Maybe the windows need more tint? The AC was stronger in my old TJ. I’m not trading my 392 but it sure has a lot of minor issues for a six figure vehicle.

When we think of a Jeep we think of old school and old school is 2 doors.

Please pardon the bad pics but what if I were to tell you that for the same price as your 392 you could have a 2 door 392 with 3 years 36,000 mile warranty?

Show me the money and I will make your dream come true, hell I will even give you half doors also.

Except the 2 door will actually be more capable as it has a real 4:1 Rubicon transfer case, not the inferior grocery getter AWD one we have in our 392's. Exhaust is actually full three inch all the way from front to back, and no electronic steering that everyone is so fond of.

Wait I lied, this one cost less than a 392.

I get the Jeep thing. This 392 is my 8th Jeep. What the issue is for ME is it has two to many doors! I want my Jeep to be small, quirky, and be able to park on a postage stamp. Frankly, I bought the Reign 392 as a hedge against discontinuation of the 392, and its limited color, possibly making it more sellable when the time came. Well, we all know the 392 continued. FOMO bit me in the butt it appears. Love the motor, the sound, and the acceleration, but it still doesn't make up for the fact the 392 is huge as compared to my 2 door wrangler. In the end it's just another vehicle. They come, they go. Dealer is giving me a very fair trade, as he should, considering I am writing him a check for $$$$ on the Corvette. I am on the lookout for a 23 2 door Rubicon, but most likely will just order a 24, V-6, manual, 4:88 gears, in either red or anvil, throw a set of 35's on it and call it good. The Tahoe can be my cross country highway runner, the ZO6 can be my weekend, pretend I am 18 again, toy, and the 2 door will be my every day Jeep driver. And all will be one with the universe....until next time!!

Don't tempt me for I am weak when it comes to that configuration!

Smess I cannot just let this one pass

The day you make my dreams come true I swear I’ll drop dead where I stand

Godspeed to all ✌🏻🇺🇸

P.S. I know we are all rooting for you and the rest of the renegades out here

I have had the Reign 392 for 6 months. Mileage is 160. I just don't drive the beast and regret selling my 2 door wrangler. Go figure. Anyway, have a chance to add a Z71 Tahoe to the stable. 6.2 with 10 speed auto. Truth be told, I never venture off road so thinking maybe the Tahoe would get more highway use. Current travel vehicle is a 2019 Cherokee. Just talking to myself here, pondering the path to take. Dealer is giving fair trade value for 392. Any of the collective have hands on experience with the Tahoe? Thanks for your thoughts.
I’m one the older crowd, I grew up in the 60s-70s and had a lot of the true muscle cars, it was the thing then. Over the years I owned a variety of different cars, mostly six cylinders and also turbo six, but nothing compares to the shore pleasure of driving the full V8.
We didn’t have air cool seats or half the comfort of any car today and we drove them hundreds of miles and never regretted it, even now I drive to Annapolis from my home, which is almost 400 miles, and stop for gas hit the head and I’m on my way.

Many of the eights I drove when I was younger. I wish I still had.
The 392 one that I see being like them 60-70s cars that will always be wanted, maybe not now, but later,

The Jeep in the pic is a 2 dr with a 6.4 with 3 years and 36k miles of warranty. I am not talking about getting the manufacturer to do it. How many do you want? Color preference?

And just for the giggles, how much does a 2 door Rubicon with a 6.4 cost ?

Window tint for sure. I am in Riverside CA where it gets as hot as Phoenix- just not as often. I am fortunate that we have an auto tint shop next door. I wasn't sure I was buying that the Jeep tint had little to no UV but I still had them do it because they did it cheap. (XPEL) Made a noticeable difference. I even have the Bestop Sunrider. I will say that my 2 door 2012 JK puts out much colder AC. Which I assume likely has to do with size of the 392/the recirculate. Same as your TJ probably.
It's funny- on the overall cost of the 392- my BIGGEST complaint is still that there is no AC on the seats. The new model with power seats makes me a little weepy...
I get where you're coming from OP. Last time I got in my 2 door I remembered how much more fun it is to drive.
I agree that in terms of price- the 392 is significantly lacking against competitors. I still don't like a 4 door Jeep though the practicality has plusses I can't deny. My Ram 1500 limited is incredibly nice on the interior and drives like a dream while still performing all the duties of a truck. So I know CDJR can do it. Prior to the 392 I had a Durango SRT. Gorgeous on the inside, not so much on the outside but the Jeep ain't exactly sexy either. FAST and stealthy. But you know what? I sold it almost immediately. Like the OP and the 392. Sometimes it's just not the right vehicle. So much of the 392 bugs me but every time I get on it I giggle like a school girl.
It makes no sense. But I still love it. I'll always be a Jeep girl- throw that 475 HP on there and it should've just come with "JENNs JEEP" on it instead of Rubicon right from the factory....

I had all of the glass ceramic tinted along with the windshield. I can imagine it being much worse without. But it certainly helps. And yeah, getting old, and having previous luxury vehicles doesn't help. Hah

That is sweet!!! Congrats (and share more pics please).

I've owned 4 Vette's over the years...last one a 2002. I'm dying for a C8. As a retiree on a fixed income I need guys like you to go after the Z06 and future editions so the basic C8 comes off of mark ups and down to earth in price

Enjoy the new ride!!! Love that wild aero...remember...you don't have the clearance of your Jeep!

Thanks, I hesitated to post more photos as this is a Jeep forum and not sure what the reactions might be. Maybe later.
