UPDATE dealer finally got the transfer case position sensor and put it in today. Well see if that fixes the SERV 4WD warning light. 5 MONTHS!!

SERV 4WD Light Issue:

Dealer finished a harness "overlay" today and claims the issue is fixed. Some harness that goes from front to back. I'll post more details when i pick up today.

UPDATE: Found Code C149E-64 in DTCM, reviewed case S2008000084 Rev A All Whl Drive SRT 6.4L. Work Order says they "overlayed" circuits DT307 and DT308 from T Case connector to DTCM in Right Rear Cargo Area, bypassing connectors XY200A and XY401A.

So far so good, we will see when weather warms up as the problem seems to occur more frequently when its 90 plus out. This problem has been ongoing since 1800mi. Now has 22,500 mi. on it.

found this thread because I keep popping my sway bar fuse but mine seems to be on really hard impacts. once on a pothole and once offroading...so was it the sway bar links or a shorted harness? if it was the harness do you have any idea where at? Thanks!

Melted harness against exhaust manifold. Pretty common from what i hear. I was blowing fuses left and right. Good luck.

Transfer case ordered today

Transfer Case finally arrived. If this doesnt fix my Serv 4WD issue, im afraid im gonna have to file lemon law. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Transfer case replaced today. So far no Serv 4wd light.

Why does it take 10 visits and 25k miles to get this done when they prob knew from the start what the issue was.

Speechless with the level of customer service I have received. Beyond pitiful.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal!! Glad it finally got resolved. I’m at 12k miles and had the Serv 4WD light come on once around 11k.

Know this is an old thread - but did you find out specifically what the sway bar link issue was that was causing fuse to blow? I have a 21 non xr that just blew the fuse 79 like yours. Will see if multiple fuses blow. Thanks!

The wiring harness was melted by the exhaust header. Common problem and was an easy fix.
