Strange🤔

Pin 18 is directly below pin 6, pins count 13,14,15,16 and so on up to 24 on that row.
I have attached to door switch schematic to help.
Got it,all pins are straight nothing out of place.
Even though I removed all trim along rocker to run wire for ARB mount in rear of back seat I had never before this happened removed door wiring harness.

That symptom you described in your original post sounds to be more software related, especially after a battery replacement and everything working fine once the engine is running. But, you resetting the radio unit and vehicle's computer not fixing it makes me curious. Maybe leave the battery disconnected over night and reconnect in the morning.

Like I said, some vehicles need several hours of a disconnected battery for a full reset of the computer. Maybe ours is one of those vehicles.

Anyway to attach the door lock wiring diagram differently? It is too blurry to read.
I zoomed in on just the drivers door parts, see if this is better.

Earl, if this is a software glitch most likely the error will be within the BCM, pulling the battery cable is a start but you want to bleed off any residual charge in the system. This is accomplished by removing the battery cable for about 30 minutes, then short the negative and positive ends together, this will remove any residual charges that may be in the system including the BCM.

I have time for that thanks for the input

Pulled the battery cables off left them off 36 hours .
Shorted cables to each other ( short to ground) reinstall cables to battery, fire up the Jeep and went for a short run . I have been on several 10 to 20 mile runs. no change on screen condition when opening drivers door. All other doors and tailgate work properly.

I know you have done a reset on the radio, but the display you refer to is the center (odometer) display right? Have you changed those settings to default settings?

No main screen center of dashboard.it would normally come on when any door is opened. now only only comes on when the other three doors and or tailgate is opened.. comes on when Jeep is started as normal .

I see. Have you gone through the settings of that screen and changed to default?

I believe there are 7 settings for that screen if I’m understanding correctly I selected a different one as a reset test not much different . Driver door still not coming on .but when I jumped into the driver seat it popped on for just a second 😵‍💫

OK. That may point to a wiring issue then. Hard to say where, but likely under the dash since you already checked the harness and the pins looked good.

I've seen a few cases where the wiring between the door and the body connection have broken inside the protective sheath. Don't know what causes this and it looks very strange when you see it. You have to cut the stitching in the sheath and open it up to be able to see the problem. Could be what's going on here.
