I wonder if something just isn't torqued correctly. Manifold bolts, maybe header to down pipe bolts....who knows.

Ya that’s what I’m thinking. Before I buy a gasket may just unbolt and re-torque everything.

I've been lazy and haven't looked but are the manifold nuts even accessible?

Looks like if you pop the fender, liner, and air box off it shouldn’t be too bad to get to…

I've mentioned this before but it fixed my noise. Directly below the drivers seat underneath the Jeep there are two slip joints in the exhaust system. The leak was only there when the exhaust was cold and sounded like a chirping sound. As the pipes heated up the noise would go away. I removed the nuts on the clamps and applied some anti-seize on the treads and re-tightened the clamps getting them really snug. Noise was gone and has not come back.

May be other reasons for this but as I said it worked for me.

yeah i've tightened those. my sound is definitely up by the cat/trans area. it doesn't sound as loud by the manifolds but sound waves travel

so i noticed there's a heat shield around both manifolds that isn't exactly a sturdy design. it kind of folds over and is just flopping around. All bolts I could access are tight and secure.

If there’s any leaky point on the manifold or converter, very likely it will shot a code. I’ve had my dealership look at this twice, and to ‘convince’ me they picked up a RAM TRX and a 6.4 heavy duty 2500 on the lot, both make the same cold start squeak and acceleration noise I heard from my 392. Just wanted to give you some info.

but what doesn't jive with me is this doesn't occur on 'ALL' Rams and Jeeps. Only some. Therefore there is a difference of some kind between those that do and don't.

Agreed. From what I’ve researched this has been an issue since the 6.2 and 6.4 debuted. Since it hasn’t been addressed I would assume it’s not an actual issue and more of an installation item. I’ve also heard people who have had work done on the manifold/cat area have noted the sound has changed, either worse or better.

i laid under my jeep again and remote started it. The noise does not appear to come from the manifold. It definitely comes from the converter area. It's difficult to determine if it's the exhaust or the transmission.

i also notice that while it's squeaking, rpm changes the pitch and volume of the squeaking until the truck is warmed up.

The squeak in mine never actually stops, it just gets subtle when it’s warm. I don’t hear it if I park outdoor and let it idle, but I can hear it from underneath the jeep if I park it in my garage, though the sound is subtle.

So in order to distinguish it from engine ticking, I open the hood and hear nothing squeaky or ticking, it should still be the exhaust noise. It’s so subtle that I cannot hear it even in the cabin with window down, I have to stand next to it to hear. What really bother me is the noise I get under acceleration.

i've caught it when lightly accelerating and next to parked cars.

i do not hear it under hard acceleration over the exhaust

2023 Chirp sound does not go away. 1000 miles.

Picked up my TRX late last month from Mark Dodge. they were GREAT by the way. Noticed a chirping sound (almost sounds like a loose belt) when I picked it up, didn’t pay much attention to it. Drove back to Houston. The chirping sound is still there. 1000 miles later. The chirp does not seem to go...

Good to know. The noise I hear under acceleration is not 100 % same as the cold start squeak but sounds like from same origin. My feeling is that the cat converter area makes a noise when the throttle is open to certain degree.
