Pedal Monster Install Issues

Ouch…..can you tell me more? I have one of the first 10 units that they shipped and everybody was having bugs and software problems but I’ve never had a problem. I primarily bought it to get rid of the cylinder shut off. I’d rather keep it the way it is with no sport mode modification then screw things up trying to upgrade the software.

If you're happy with the unit the way it is and not interested in the "sport" mode selection or anything else then I'd leave it alone if I were you.

It might be worth reaching out to Z Automotive directly to see if they’ll handle the firmware update for you. Shipping it both ways would likely cost less than $20, and it’s worth asking. They might offer that level of personal customer service—or at least be there to bail you out if a DIY upgrade goes south. Since they tout the NoLimitz's upgradeability as a key feature, they should be willing to stand behind the process.

Just installed the Pedal Monster in my 2026 MOAB 392. I’m using the stand alone version with the phone app. Everything seemed to go fine in the install except I could not get the PM to locate my Reverse during the setup.

I did the latest firmware update prior to install and calibration. I tried the auto detect numerous times but never could get it to locate the reverse. I also could not find a manual setup option like the i-dash seems to have.

I contacted Banks and was told they were working on an updated firmware for this issue but it seems others have theirs up and running just fine. Not sure if the 2026 model might be the issue.

Also… where are most of you setting your PMs at. I currently have mine on Sport + 8 and it’s pretty sand peppy !!! Definitely a lot of fun. There does seem to be lag on the backside where if you do a WOT run and let off, the RPMs stay up a second or so. Anyone notice that ?

Will this work if an accelerator pedal cut off switch is installed ? It would be for antitheft.

I can’t answer that question…. Maybe someone with more knowledge can answer it.

The Nolimtz software either updates or it won't. If it doesn't update nothing happens. My first one didn't update and so they sent me a new one. You do have to unplug it from the jeep to do the update. I would try the update because if it won't work I'm sure they will send you a new one. The old one will still work as it did before the update. Make sure you have the new software downloaded before you try to update.

Will this work if an accelerator pedal cut off switch is installed ? It would be for antitheft.

I have a physical cut off switch and it works. The pedal commander electronics doesn't know it's there, while the switch is in the run position.
