Parking outside vs in a garage

When home, do you park your 392 outside or in a garage?

Mine is going to have to be outside unfortunately. I am supposed to be getting a Gobi XR 392 in the next 3 weeks, it was in the paint process as of this week.

My cars are parked outside under a tree because my garage can't fit anything that looks like a car. I'm getting the 392 ceramic coated next week to improve its ability to fight off the elements.

Too funny...🤣 I have the exact same setup with my Trek hanging precariously over my Jeep like "the sword of Damocles" ⚔️

Just had to post one more picture of my the two "Matchbox" cars that get to live in the garage. Kinda funny they both emerged from WWII on opposing sides and now they share opposite sides of my rickety old garage. I call the Bug my Schwartz Car (cuz it's black a definitely not a "sports car" but it does have 4 on the floor) 🤣... May the schwartz be with you.

That sure looks like a Trek Powerfly 9.7?........I could never lift mine that high to hang it, but my new Scott e-bike weighs only 23lbs so that might go over the hood of my Rubi.

Wife's GC and our TJ are in one, 392 has the other one garage to itself. We have another GC that's now outside in the driveway but it needs to find a new home soon bc it just sits now.

Excuse the no tag on the 392, it got ripped off at Jeep Beach and this pic was from when I was waiting for a new insert to come in.

Wow 23lbs! Mine is a Trek Rail 9.9 carbon frame that I built/modified. It’s kinda a mutt with SRAM XX1 wireless mixed in with basic rockshox (soon to be upgraded to 🦊 Fox shocks to match my 392 😉) even so it’s still a chunky 46 lbs.
Just curious if anyone has found a good bike rack for their 392? I need to find something.

I have had a bunch of different bike racks, the best one is my current setup for my land cruiser(because I don’t have the 392 yet). It is a 1up bike rack made in the USA and they are direct to consumer only. The rack is a little pricey but it’s amazing doesn’t sway at all going down the high way…

Yes. 1upUSA. They’re the best of the three (or four?) that we own. By far. And US made.

Thanks @Gobi392 & @computertom for recommending 1UP. I was looking at the 2” Super Duty Single rack.

I found a guy on YouTube who who ordered his 1UP with “reverse side plates” that point down instead of up. This gives you more clearance to open the tailgate with the bike rack attached. He said he ordered it custom from them like this.
What I’m not sure about is if the rack will extend far enough to clear the spare tire with the bike attached.

When I get mine, it will be where the Dodge Ram is. Truck is going back outside. We sold our 2020 Grand Cherokee which was in the garage. Rubicon 2 dr. on the left, (2020 Grand Cherokee sold) 392 Jeep on the right.

Quickr racks. You will need a 8” extension so you can open the tailgate enough to be useful even with it dropped all the way down. Built like a tank, last rack you will ever buy. You can run a single or easily click on up to 3 more extensions. However be prepared to wait for it like you did the 392 lol.

Here in Texas, the storms are just crazy. Hail is a common word like rain is. When my truck was outside for a year, I would keep the truck covered just help keep the elements off of it. Moving blankets underneath the truck cover to pad it from the hail storms. A three car garage would be nice.

I have a three car garage but only fit two in. I have too much other stuff in there.

Have you seen the youtube video of the guy that did it? It doesn't look super painful, but definitely not just straight forward. Removing the rear glass seemed to me like the most painful part. If I remember correctly, it involved him balancing the open glass on his head while he undid/redid the bolts.
I have not seen it yet. but I will be sure to check it out. :) As for me balancing glass on my head......well........all I can say is that someone better film it. LOL!

I've seen this same video a while back and was wondering the same. A friend ordered it and swears by it as the best bike rack as well. But he doesn't have a Jeep...so can you really trust him?? LOL. I've used the Kuat 8in extender for other bike racks, very solid and no wobble. I currently use the 2 bike rack of the RockyMounts for the my Trek Powerfly e-bike. With the extender I can clear the spare, without it works too, I just can't open the tailgate or fold it up. So I don't leave the rack on the Jeep for that reason.

LOL.
I have three small sheds around the outside of my house to keep my garage empty.
I started with a bicycle shed and it grew from there.

My AEV 392 is currently garaged, but is getting bumped as my GT3 Touring should be finished with PPF and ceramic coating sometime this upcoming week.

Just had an additional garage built and already have outgrown it 😥
