Oil Change: Threaded Funnel Suggestion & Reset Oil Life Procedure Questions

Any update and thoughts on the Oil Udder?

Does it seem to fit well and accommodate the angle and tight space for the filter? What about the larger filters?
TIA
It hasn’t shown up yet. Delivery by the 13th

The udder might be a winner. It’ll catch that annoying drip that’s starts on the back side of the filter when you crack it. I won’t try it for a few more months since I’m not set for an oil change for a bit

I bought one as well. I'll be using it here in a couple of weeks maybe. My concern is that I usually use a filter wrench (socket?) on a long extension to get up in there to spin the filter off... the oil udder prevents me from doing that, and that may limit it's usefulness.

I use a yellow one like this. Pretty sure this is the one I have but can’t swear to it. . It is not threaded but the threads do grab it a bit. Stands upright and I just lay the quart upside down in it to let it pour while I’m getting the next one ready. Works great.
I just let the filter make its little mess and the wipe stuff off with a disposable shop towel. No big deal.

I purchased one also and tried it. It worked for me. No issues.
Likewise I bought one of these as it was WAY less expensive than the other alternatives. I did have trouble the first time I tried to test fit it to the engine - had to tilt it back like someone else mentioned and IIRC had to kind of push down to get the threads to start but once they started it screwed in no problem. It now goes in easily and works great.

I just did my first oil change and here are some other notes.

First the dang factory filter was on WAY WAY beyond the torque specs. I did not have the socket type wrench that goes on the end and had to use a compression strap type of wrench and it actually crushed the can of the filter before it moved.

I used a Form-A-Funnel (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017MRFUO4?tag=jeep392-20) and curved the end around the back of the filter housing and then bent it around the steering links so it would hold itself in place to keep oil off everything. Note the plastic thing attached to the filter housing that sticks down seems to serve absolutely no purpose other than to get in the way but you can unclip it and move it up to get more room. I was able to un-seal the old filter and let it drain for an hour or so till it stopped dripping before I removed it so that helped cut down on the mess.

I went back with one of the SRT filters (MO-041).

When I refilled it took a full 8 quarts and that got me to just at the top of the hash marks after I ran it to fill the new filter.

It sure is nice to have a vehicle high enough to actually work under it. I have a 300C SRT8 and I can't even look under it without putting it up on the special ramps I had to buy because it is too low to the ground to use regular ramps.

Just did my first as well. Same thing. Filter on so tight it crushed before I could finally get it started. I also used the SRT filter as well.
