MOAB: Ordering Soon.

Looking to learn as much as I can before ordering. I got, what I think, a good OTD price for a 2027 MOAB 392 from Mark Dodge.

My original plan was to order a 2027 Ram 2500 6.7 Mega Cab Limited but I would be handing it down to my nephew after I retire from the Army in 5 years. I’m a motorcycle track day enthusiast but will not be doing much of that until I retire so I have no need for such huge towing capacity right now. I also wrecked my bike at my last track day and will retire it once I rebuild it. A newer bike with rider aids that will not try to kill me when I crack open the throttle a max lean angle will be purchased after retirement.

Once I retire, I’ll hand the 392 down to my daughter or nephew and then purchase a Cummins when I’m actually ready to tow across country for track days.

Looking to learn all the ends and outs of the 392. I was a long time Jeep WK owner in the mid 2000’s with a 3” OME Lift and BFG KM1’s (handed that down to my little brother before PCSing to Hawaii for 2 years).

What info are you looking for?

It is a wrangler with a big frickin engine. It is very fast, but not insane fast. Is can achieve triple digit speeds in no time, and as brave as I am, 130 is the absolute top I am comfortable with. It is still pulling like a freight train at that speed. With larger gonads, probably 150 or 160 is achievable.

NoLimitz is required to disable top speed and MDS override.

I was leaving my neighborhood the other day and a neighbor was behind my in his C7 vette convertible. I put it in loud mode and off-road +. Then laid into it when leaving. He was keeping up with me, but not gaining. He later commented that it was the fastest Jeep he had ever seen. Was shocked that I could keep pace with the vette.

It is fast, loud, obnoxious, and I love it. It is the dumbest version of the JL and exactly what I want.

Get terrible gas mileage running premium fuel. Max 250 mile range per tank. Requires frequent filling. Lots of gas station visits.

All that, and I am seriously considering some performance upgrades, possibly a supercharger.

I ordered mine from Mark Dodge, it was my 2nd wrangler bought from them. Both transactions were the simplest vehicle purchases ever. They have the remote purchase process fine tuned and perfected. I highly recommend using them. My 1st wrangler was delivered to my driveway. The 2nd I went there to pick it up so I could do the engine break in myself. Made for a really long drive from Lake Charles to west Houston, but a really fun one.

Don’t care about top speed but I do care about disabling MDS and other preventive mods.

I’m hearing Atlas has a good T-case that’s better OEM.

Don’t care about price to keep it fueled. Can have fun at 40 plus miles per gallon.

I’ll probably do AWE exhaust and then whatever recommended preventative mods.
