Looking at either a 26 or 27, or ordering a 27 Moab

I have seen a few posts that the 27 Moab gets a DANA 50 rear axle and the updated LCAs. My question is it better to wait and order a unit or grab a in stock 26 or 27? Any other advantages to orders a 27? The only thing i am getting it painted matched fenders, mats and 3 piece painted top. Looking at the Joose color

I had a 24 Rubicon 392 but traded it for a GX550 and decided i missed it in the garage, so no rush but I want to replace it before they stop making the V8s.

If there is no rush, than order a 2027. I was in your shoes too and decided to experience the ordering process and I wanted the stronger rear axle.

I don’t think the 2027 is getting the longer LCA.

Something else I always think about is how many test drives, cold revs, idle hours, and farts in the seats have been conducted with instock 392’s.

I think time is on your side, I don't think Stellantis is going to stop with the 392 anytime soon. The EPA has been neutered probably for the next 2 years and the 392 is really helping Jeeps bottom line. There not going to shoot their cash cow. Depending on what your going to do with your Jeep the Dana 50 would be a welcome upgrade and a decent step up from the 44, still not as good as a 60 which you could buy with the money you would be saving buying a 26 or 25.

The LCA isn't a big deal and even though Jeep said they would be switching over to them on the upscale Rubicons for both the Wrangler and Gladiator for late 26's and 27's no one here has yet to confirm finding them on their vehicles yet.

Perhaps they have a sh!t load of old stock to use up first. But for what its worth they are super cheap and not that big of a deal to install. It would really suck for you to order and wait for a 27 and then have it come in with the standard LCA's and a Dana 44, it could happen.

Personally, I would let money partially be your guide. Let's face it, in life timing is everything! IMHO, Good luck with your decision!

my daughter’s Rubi is built and we are just waiting for it to arrive at koons but we did hit up a couple dealers who had 27’s and none have the upgraded control arms! This is not a 392 but the salesmen claimed they just sold a 27 Moab and he didn’t believe they had the Dana upgrade either! The control arms can be had for 90 bucks so no biggie but if some got the new Dana and some didn’t I’d be super twisted!

My '27 Willys has the upgraded rear axle, M235. I assume all '27''s have it? It will be listed on the window sticker if it does. (Side note...Not that it matters, I don't believe it is technically a Dana 50?)
The M235 is a Dana 50.
