I am told that they arrive in a "ship mode" and you can't read the ODO until they take it out of that mode in PDI.

I am guessing power is limited, etc, but not sure.

My dealer offered to send me a pic of the odometer as it was coming off the truck.

Don't know - out of my knowledge base. At this point Chapman has been great to work with, honoring their pricing etc....I have no reason to think they are not telling me the truth.

Considering I am thinking of moving the jeep to Iowa and running down gravel roads all the time, this may be the cleanest I ever see it.

Just talked to my buddy that works at the dealer in Taylor Texas.....he stated that Chapman's info is accurate.....he doesn't do PDI's but went through the training.

I did a quick internet search and it looks like the words "ship mode" are in the place on the center display where the ODO is until the vehicle is taken out of that mode

Is there any chance that your dealer doesn’t have an allocation or some other problem? Do you think you may have something like a “technical computer bug” that keeps yours from moving forward. I am sure you must be pulling your hair out by now.

I also wonder why some were moved to 22's (like mine) and some were not? Was there a certain option that decided that or was it a random chance?

I had originally ordered my 21 in late September, but was kicked over to 2022 with a new assigned order date of 10/22.

I’m totally guessing here but it sounds like your dealership had no allocations left but placed your order anyway. Just by gathering tid bits of information here and there from this and other forums, you could be getting pushed to the back of the line because of that.
If this isn’t the case, then there’s no excuse.

I referred 3 more customers, and their orders were placed over 2 weeks after mine, all of those were delivered before the end of the year, one of them was even delivered Mid Oct. (He is a member if this group). So yeah, there is no excuse. There are 22's been delivered and here I seat waiting for a 21. So yeah, no excuse.

We are. I am originally from Illinois - I see that's where you are at. No way I would ever go back there, IL government is too messed up, and taxes are too high.

May split time between Texas and Iowa, not sure. Oddly enough we'd probably be up there in winter as my wife can't handle the cedar pollen in central Texas. (Texas has a heavy allergy season from end of December through the start of summer, but Jan and Feb are some of the worst with cedar....oak follows soon after.)

I am looking at the south end of Iowa from the boarder (actually looked at a house that bardered the Mississippi) to Lake Rathbun in the west if that makes sense...

Burlington area is pretty decent. Havent been to Lake Rathbun but Im on the Mississippi all summer. Pretty good boating down that way as well
