Just ordered my 2023 392 in Sting Gray @ 9% off MSRP - questions on XR option!

Yep that’s the very same. Drove up and traded a gt500 for it as I am just not into the drag stuff any more and it has been collecting a lot of dust for years.

There is a sarge green used XR at Tom O’brien jeep in Indy on 96th street. Or was I have not looked it over as I don’t care for the flat paint colors. I like the sparkles or Black.
Nice rig and good luck with it!

Personally I struggled with the price a bit as I was getting a brand new '23 for the same price (same spec with Affiliate pricing) but seemed like a nice low mile rig (were you able to move them below $84?). If I remember correctly it also had 2 previous owners (first was probably a flip). Love the Granite Crystal, I have a Trackhawk and TRX both in Granite so was trying to match but hopefully I'll be happy with the Sarge XR that's inbound. It takes me back to my Green Sahara TJ days....

84,499 was the price but I got exactly what I wanted on a pretty heavily modded GT500 that was going to be a bear to trade with the no cats etc. I know i can get new for probably less as Dan Cummins (ask for Lindsey) has done some great business on the TRX and 392's down in KY. In Indy nobody wants to deal. They all think they have the only car lot in town I think and Ford has become impossible to deal with due to the ADM/Market Adjustment crap. I like the hard top Broncos but I am such a motor junkie I had to have the 392 (3rd Jeep in the family now, ugh) I guess it could be worse but I was a Ford guy and now with the raptor and gt500 gone and a 392 and power wagon in the garage, wife's jeep, and daughters Jeep only my son has a mustang now. sorry ranting as I am irritated by how ford treated me after all the years and cars I had from them.

Anyway $84,499. It was actually between 45 and 4600 miles, 2 owners which worried me a little (I am 3rd) but I looked it over, drove it, and the fact someone had it tinted and ceramic coated and the shield stuff inside applied too already was a nice savings plus I am not patient. I wanted and XR and I wanted it now. This met all the requirements for me. I actually am very pleased with it too. All those stories of noisy tops with the sky 1 touch are highly over blown. It looks and drives great. I talked on the phone in the car at 85 on the way home with my mom and a friend and no issues hearing me or them at all. My only beef my be that it looks like it may be a hassle to take out the rear window. tail gate window not the sides. But really to push a button while driving and have the top open and close is a beautiful think.

Well, good luck and it seems you got a good deal (and good money for the trade). I am probably the same as you spend it and move on, can always find something a dollar cheaper but I want it now too....thus the reason I almost pulled the trigger on the '22 vs. '23 but it was like Jeep had an Alexa in my house and saw I was about to pull the trigger on used and sped up my production on the new one, LoL.

As for SOT top, with the 392 I will have 3 wranglers with that top, one of which is a 2019 Rubicon and I wouldn't go any other way now. The 2019 I've had for almost 4 years (my son's now) it was one of the first in NJ with no issues (knock on wood) in all those years. It is a great top and the 392 will be my 12th wrangler (including one launch edition Gladiator) and I'm done with hard tops / soft tops and carts, etc. But you are right the rear window not coming out is my only gripe but otherwise I love the flexibility and convenience now that I'm getting older and can open it on a whim!

Congratulations and good luck with the new ride!

Ditto on the Indy dealers not wanting to deal. I’m local and reached out to Tom O’Brien a few weeks ago as my sarge green 392 is still in C status. I just missed the window to order the XR package. They wouldn’t budge off the advertised price, despite the fact that it’s been sitting on their lot for months and the market is not moving in their favor. You got an awesome rig though, enjoy it! Sounds like we have similar tastes lol. I have a modded mustang GT in the garage as well. Not a GT500, but it’s still a lot of fun.

OP, something else to consider is contacting the high volume dealers and see if there are any customer orders that people back out of that you can take over.

I had an early June order and then changed my mind with color. The dealer put in a new order in early August. That June order went to someone else. I talked to my dealer and it was already claimed with a deposit before it even shipped from the factory. I assume it had already been claimed for months since the dealer obviously didn't go the route of waiting until it hit the lot to sell it.

I don't claim to know how all dealers work, but maybe there would be a chance you could grab an XR from a dealer from someone who backs out of an order. No guarantee on prices, but they could maybe let you claim one if you wanted XR bad enough.

And nice rig Crisis. The GCM hasn't been available for all of 23 either so that's another bonus in addition to the dimmer. I had GCM on my '16 75A and I love the color. I was hoping for a 20thA edition, but that looks like a no go at this point, but I wanted a 23 because I'm starting to consider in my head how to make it a '20thA' on my own (part of why I changed color). Not sure if I will, but we'll see. I'm hopefully getting it tomorrow, so I just want to get it and enjoy it for what it is for awhile first.
Good idea, I will contact some of the larger dealers in the region and put the word out. Thanks!

I hope you can find one. However, if you send to aev with a non XR (or XR too), you get a secondary aev ‘vin serial number’ for their build in addition to the obvious jeep vin which I think is super cool.

I called them today and discussed in detail with a guy named Andrew there how the process works. would rather save the money and get the XR but this is my plan B.

I like it. That was my plan back at the end of my22 when I had a non on order and was unsure if I would get an XR.

A 370 build is cooler than XR alone imo, but there’s obviously the cost.
