What’s the advantage of using the larger sized filters(899 or 041)? Is it just more oil being filtered at any given time? Any fitment issues with the larger filters? Thanks.

More filtering media, better anti drain back valve…. And no they fit just fine.

If you are on any Facebook 392 groups you have run into Scott Blum who apparently works for Jeep and was part of the 392 development group. He has said the larger filters can hit the track bar (I think it was) on hard acceleration as the engine twists. Lots of people run the larger ones with no problem. I have a 899 on right now.

If I ran the bi SRT filter I'd be the one where the filter hits the frame piece and rips it off, dumping oil and seizing my engine. Yep that would be me.
