HEMI end is imminent… It had a great run!

I'd only trade in if it offered substantially better performance or the Jeep redesign is just so much better I can't resist.

Not really
How so?
Every 6 I’ve owned, straight or V, lacks that angelic cylindrical 8 choir sound.

The inline aspect of the new 6 intrigues me a bit. The old 4.0/4.2 inline sizes made nice torque down low. If the new motor can do that, plus post some nice mid and redline HP.... it could be a winner.

But no inline 6 with twin turbos in the exhaust stream will have that v8 rumble.

It wont sound exactly like a big V8 but I6s have a melodious tone that can be turned into a nice rumble via performance exhaust unlike the fart can sounds of a V6 or high pitched screech of a Turbo4.

I know the BMW I have has a nice sound. Just not as purty as the V8. It does have a nice linear pull through the RPMs as well. The twin turbos give a nice wind up as well.
I’m kind of curious and can see the hurricane being a solid hit.

I’ll say this
If they do the hurricane, we’ll start hearing stories about how the hurricane is a 392 killer (by the numbers).

I had a few BMWs when I was younger, and the Inline 6 engine had a pleasing exhaust note especially at high rpm. Kind of made me want to go fast.

Now I am getting older, I find myself enjoying the HEMI V8 rumbling (something about the V8 firing order) during start-up and slow acceleration on my RAM.

Both engines, I6 and V8, have their own, and difference, characteristics. Both are nice.

Since this is a Rubicon 392 forum, here is a nice short video of the HEMI 6.4L sound that I found on the web. Enjoy! :)

Just own them all.
