Gear limiting to disable mds

Is it possible to set a gear limit to disable mds while driving in auto?

Like in the Ram 1500? I do not believe there is a way in our Wranglers. Using the manual paddle shifters will disable MDS, but you have to continuously shift up and down through the gears manually.

On some Jeep 392 model years (I know it works on my 2023), enabling sport mode will disable MDS. But then the engine & tranny are always in the aggressive state.

The Z-NoLimitz seems to be the best option for most.

Thank you for the info, are there any long term repercussions using the Z-NoLimits. Issues with the solenoids, collapsible lifters, unnecessary wear… I’m personally not concerned with fuel mileage.

I recall in the very first firmware release of the NoLimitz, there were some software compatibility glitches and also some conflicts with the Z-Tazer. I do not recall hearing anyone reporting any negative effects on the Jeep itself.

The latest firmware seems to have corrected previous issues. Using a product like the NoLimitz module is a personal decision and should be based on the results of your research. Search for “NoLimits” on this forum, which should provide you with ample info to assist in your decision based on your specific needs. Feedback on this forum suggests that the NoLimitz is a solid choice and is proving to be a reliable product.

In my opinion, the only safe way to disable MDS is a full delete with new lifters and replace the solenoids with plugs. Then either reprogram the computer or use nolimitz.

No one knows with 100% certainty on the MDS deactivation with NoLimitz. Plenty of opinions here and independent YouTubers doing their own diagnostics, conjectures, and hypothesis on hemi lifter failure in general. Take it all in and make the determination and be confident about it. Inserting my 2 cents: don’t worry about it and just drive your Jeep. Too many people spend more time worrying about what could happen and not enough time just enjoying it.
