Great! I talked to then there a couple years ago. They hinted that pin lock was coming at the time.I met with them in Daytona at jeep invasion. He also told me the update will fix the delay on password entry. Try that also will work better.
if you update your TAZER it does not do that flickering any more.
Mine is up to date and still flickers.if you update your TAZER it does not do that flickering any more.

I just came across this thread, thanks for reviving; very interesting read. I previously owned a Challenger Scat Pack and seven, yes (7), Jeep Wrangler RUBICONs, all two-doors though. So this was my first four-door with the AWD…I know this is an old thread, so I am reviving it but need to add FAD to my Jeep after a lift and aftermarket driveshaft and wondering if anyone has the part numbers for the factory Jeep FAD parts? I ordered the wiring harness from eBay that was referenced but wondering what other parts I need for the project? Any help is very much appreciated.
It is true that running in 2wd will add some extra stress to the rear axle especially if you have a lead foot. I will point out a couple of things, the transfer case IS the weak point on a 392 Wrangler. Consider this how many Dana 44 failures do you hear about and then, how many transfer cases are failing. When in 2wd there is no pressure on the front transfer case clutch pack, (this is the item that usually fails in our transfer cases) Also, if you do add a FAD unit to the front axle you are literally free wheeling the front differential, no carrier or ring and pinon rotation. The 392 will actually steer and drive better, zero wear on the front axle and since nothing is rotating, its smoother too. Plus, I do find a minor fuel savings. Ask those who have done this, it is a mod that pays off in spades!Main down side to running is Forced RWD ...per Scott Blum.... is added stress to rear dana 44 axle.
No added stress to electric motor or clutches in t/c.
How long will it hold up to burn-outs and slow full power acceleration is only a guess.
When I asked about Mopar rear axles in Hellcat vehicles... they are stronger than dana 44.
I asked Scott and another FCA/Jeep employee why Jeep did't upgrade the $90k+ Wrangler 392 to dana 60's....response was.... you'd be how much $ it cost in R&D testing to change axles, can't just bolt them on.

Finally, for those who feel the full time 4wd is a better option I submit to you, what is cheaper to replace a 2K Dana 44 (2k) or a transfer case (4k). I will go with the Dana 44 option every time (better yet a D60 upgrade) besides, you will also have much more fun in 2wd. Obviously just my opinion and 50 years of mechanical experience!
Do you have the part number or link/details for the wiring harness that you ordered? You can use the bolts you take off the cover plate. It does come with a new gasket but the old gasket is usually ok to reuse.Excellent that is what I was looking at, but can’t determine if it includes the gasket and 4 bolts? Do you know? Or are those separately ordered?
