hello everyone.
been reading posts since we bought our Mojito 392 Moab with SOT in May. Live in southern California bought jeep in Arizona. Have just under 700 miles now. Added rockslide engineering steps, winch, lights and I am about to install OEM color matched fenders and onboard air.
I was at DMV earlier today to finalize the registration process - VIN verification, smog check, and had to wait for paper title from bank to be mailed to DMV. Unfortunately, was not able to complete registration cause of an emission sticker under the hood that states "NOT FOR SALE IN STATES WITH CALIFORNIA EMISSION STANDARDS"
Purchase process done online. Dealership assured us no issues registering in California-first time this dealer ran into this issue. We basically drove to Arizona to pickup the jeep and went to a D-Back game then drove home.
anyone else ran into this problem? how was it resolved? Dealer buy back?
an exemption to the rule per dmv is that the car has to have 7,500 to complete registration. does not make sense, does DMV think that the emission with meet california standard after 7,500 miles?
