I was wondering same? Does off-road+ make jeep any quicker on the street?I’ve wondered if off-road+ makes a difference in launch performance. It definitely sounds great.

Throttle response seems better but that can also be addressed with Pedal Commander.I was wondering same? Does off-road+ make jeep any quicker on the street?
That might be a ZAutomotive question. I haven’t seen it in any setting but they may be able to map it.On my GC SRT, you could program the RPM launch. Factory was set at 2k. I was able to program it to 4500. Biiiig difference off the line.
can the JL 392 be programmed for different RPM’s?

One definite difference with off-road+ in my experience is hard shifts include the Hemi fart.
Agreed. I think the hemi fart in offroad + and paddle shifting is not good for performance. The AMAX shifts in regular torque reserve launch are much more positive.Throttle response seems better but that can also be addressed with Pedal Commander.

Did brake torque launch in offroad + mode.....Interesting results. Jeep did not go into the torque reserve mode while brake torquing, BUT after launching, it did the AMAX shifts (no fart on shifting). So did some more runs this evening. 4.45 this am was 78 deg 1/4 tank reasonably flat I think. This afternoon low 5's full tank little uphill 90 degrees. Best run was 5.1 with trac control off, but again all of these were on highway coming home from work. Stopping as traffic would allow. There is a local 1/8 dragstrip that is having a "no prep" whatever that means night on saturday night. Old fashioned street races. No clocks. On some future Sat nights they will have the clocks up. Hopefully can take it this weekend and get some video and do some runs using tazer for timing and experiment with different settings and launches. Weather is uncertain so we'll see.
It is fun as HE11 doing these launches and timing them.
Nothing unsafe at all about it either. Launches straight and true and in 1/8 mile is only going to top out at 85 or so. Biggest danger would be car in other lane getting out of control.
Unless something happens, in coming weeks I will get video footage and run this thing on the 1/8 mile and get some ET's.
I'd like to believe that these things are overbuilt to handle a little on road fun like this. Obviously, shocking the driveline can have ill effects, but as long as you are just torquing it up with the driveline engaged and then just accellerating hard and letting the auto trans TCM and ECM control the shifts, I suspect it won't grenade itself. I suggest you keep trying and find out for all of us.On another note, as fun as all this is, how "bad" do you think it is for the jeep, or is the powertrain tough enough to handle a little playing around with no ill effects? I really drive mine pretty easy most of the time and have just started doing more of the launches in different ways just out of curiosity, but it is ridiculous fun.
That is my thought too. I'm not doing anything beyond what is described in the performance manual when it comes to launches. I'm definitely going to make my way to the local 1/8 mile strip and make some passes.I'd like to believe that these things are overbuilt to handle a little on road fun like this. I can't wait to see the video of that! I haven't been to the dragstrip in way longer than I care to admit. I never even got my Hellcat or the GC SRT out. Just don't have time in my crazy busy life these days, but I am super curious how these bad boys measure up to the "pony car" crew. That is my thought too. I think the 1/8 mile is probably where the 392 will shine. 1/4 limited by aerodynamics.I can't wait to see the video of that! I haven't been to the dragstrip in way longer than I care to admit. First run on of the night, I took out a corvette. The announcer said, "Did you see that Jeep beat that corvette?"I honestly hope these supercars perform better, but it is awesome that we can shock the hell out of them at stop lights if given the opportunity!
with 4.56 gears I thought the expected 0-60 is closer to 4.0 seconds0-60 on tazer was very consistent in different modes. Full tank of gas low 80's and very high humidity. 0-60 was 4.92 - 5.04 on all runs.
That is what c&d got. Mine has a winch. Bunch of tools in it. Rock rails. Less than ideal conditions. Don’t know how all that affects it. Not sure how accurate tazer is. Mine may be slower than average. Don’t know.with 4.56 gears I thought the expected 0-60 is closer to 4.0 seconds
