Anyone else think the adhesive rubber seals look and feel cheap?

The vehicle is built to a price point. The profit margin on a $85k 392 model must be through the roof. The majority of components are shared with the lowly $30k entry level Wrangler. Like you stated, it’s not a $150k G-Wagon MB.

I think we will see MAJOR improvements on the next generation Wrangler to help with build efficiencies. The current JL platform is 5 years old already.

Exactly where from? Front corner? Rear? Did you compare yours to the pics above? Usually it's a simple gasket or seal. If its the front corner it's usually that gasket or the cut-out with scissors shown above.
While I LOVE my 392 there is nothing upgraded from the standard Jeep on the interior or exterior rubber components. This is my 3rd Jeep. My 2012 didn't come with a single option except AC- didn't even have power. And most of what's on the 392 is the same. Crazy. What you are looking at is the same "engineering" Jeep has been using for I don't know, forever? It's not great but it ain't broken and until Jeeps stop flying off the shelves...they're not going to fix it.
It leaks from the rear corner opposite your picture?

Well unfortunately the rain hasn't stopped in weeks here. I am going to have to pull all the carpet and let it dry out! Dam car turned into a real expensive rolling bathtub..

Those aren't my pictures. Take it to the dealer especially while its raining. Hard to argue if they can see the Jeep is wet.
Have you pulled the plugs?

Yes I pulled the plugs or it would have turned into a bathtub!

Hardtop or SOT? Either way, your Jeep has a warranty, use it.

Hey, that little piece in the corner is not stock...that was the band aid...?

Both rear doors have gaps in them from the chunky foam that pushes up against the door seal and dents it. I placed a piece of foam to close out the hole.

Wind noise and water intrusion are the main reasons to the funky pieces that they use anywhere they can
Or you could go to the dealer and listen to "How it's a Jeep thing"

Seriously that`s some pretty shoddy workmanship considering you have the same issue with a entry level Jeep all the way up to a $88K Rubicon. I would be embarrassed to show that to anyone

AGAIN shame on you Jeep for letting this pass inspection

That's a politically correct way to say that. I like to go straight to the point and I call it sloppy engineering and laziness :) JL has been released in 2018, you'd think they've had enough time to improve things like that.

Yeah, I get that. Honestly they just made me smile when I first saw them :D I would expect them to be more like one consistent piece of rubber/gasket around the edge of the hardtop. Now they look like they’ve just added some random pieces of rubber and foam here and there fill in the gaps and get rid of leaks and cut the noise :) Take a look at this one - it looks like they stacked multiple layers to make it tight eventually. It almost looks like a prototype or something :ROFLMAO:

does anyone know where to source the small rubber piece on top of the larger piece at the A pillar corner?

There is a TSB out on the wind and noise/rain subject, I do not know it off hand. It is supposed to help with water going into the cab during rain and also keep it off the inside of the front doors. Notice where the front drip rail ends on a hard top

Do you have that TSB or know where I can search for it?

I had the 392 to the dealer three times to fix my passenger front door leak. They have been entirely unable to do this. I see a difference between the driver and passenger door at the top and was going to try to fix this myself. I also ordered a seal kit from jeep leak fix , but I haven't gotten it yet so I cannot attest to its effectiveness yet.

I've had four jeeps since 2009 and all had some leak issues of some kind, but they were all fixed to my satisfaction after working with the dealer. The 392 seems to be harder to fix.

The TSB I had seen was on the JL forum but it also applied to the 392`s There are kits that will take the water rom the rain channel of the hardtop and divert it to the windshield

My roof leaks like hell in the rain! I have removed the the panels to see if there is dirt or a bent seal but, nothing . Any suggestions?
Did you check the drain holes? One on driver's and passenger side. Very small.

Some people are still confused about the 392 MOAB. It really is just a $39K base Wrangler with some expensive capability bits added. Robots are robots and line workers are unionized. There is a limit to fit and finish and for Jeep, it's kinda low.
