Aluminum Belly Skids

Ended up going with ASFIR again despite the Artec system being complete and gorgeous.

Didn‘t purchase the TC and fuel skids since they just bolt over the stockers. Will rattle can the diff skids bronze.

Is anyone noticing trapped heat from their skid plates, especially covering the catalytic converter? Any heat through the floorboard or warm carpet smells? Just curious.

I have a JKUR with a full compliment of Rock Hard skids, and a mix of steel and aluminum. All have gouges, and I never really noticed a difference with the aluminum ones being less "slidey" though I complete believe that it is true.

UHMW polyethylene is a great material--I made skid plates for my and other's track cars and it would take big impacts and grinding along track curbing and just shrug it off. I would think this would be a great material to help slide on rocks, though it will score and be damaged.

I worry about heat retention with an engine skid in the 392 as well.
