392 Emblems

Wow Im surprised by how many ppl bought 392s but dislike the bronzy gold... I get hella compliments on it and get asked "howd you get a bronze package?" Lol... im like... its a 392.....
I love the color, even ordered fuel podiums to really accent it...
My 392 is granite btw.
Is your dash granite in color also? Deciding on a color and I would like exterior to match.

Thanks, it is custom. I removed the emblems, scuffed, primed black color coat and clear. I traced out the emblem on the carbon fiber veneer then cut and trimmed with a Dremel tool.
Very nice work! If you don’t mind moonlighting on a project like this for me let me know! I’ll have mines fedexed to you ASAP!

Its gray. Wish it was bronzy gold personally.

Here are the part numbers for the right and left 392 hood badges. You can either go to Mopar, your dealer, or there are other online suppliers just by typing in Jeep OEM parts parts in the search engine.

Picked up this emblem on eBay for $75. Supposed to be OEM. Exactly the same as hood emblems, I think they are real. Has 2 little post that snip right off. Smoothed the post holes with sand paper then put tiny pieces of 3m automobile tape just so they wouldn’t scratch the paint. The rest of the emblem has double sided tape already applied. Just in case someone doesn’t hear me smoke by them. I ordered 2 Hemi decals to put on the sides under the Jeep emblem. Trying to digitally color match the Rubicon decal. Should have it this week, I’ll post if it comes out ok.
I found this “Beach Rated” badge on Amazon. It seemed fitting for my locale.

Every time I see your Jeep I kind of wish I had gone for the silver match to my LJR instead of granite.

I really like the Billet Silver also. However, that is the same color as my TrackHawk and I was thinking that would be way too much silver in the same garage. It may be comforting to know that the Granite Crystal is the 'Official' Jeep 80th anniversary color

Thank you so much for this info, Friend! Does it matter which side to get if I’m going to place on the rear near tailgate?

Both left and right are the same except for the 2 locating pins. You will be removing those to install.

I am also debadging my 22 Hydro. A little frustrated by the guide holes in the hood for the 392 emblems. Found Custom painted 392 Hood Emblems and other Badges are available from a Florida company. They use factory paint codes/colors and let you choose the combinations. Not too pricy either. $199 for a set of Hood emblems any color you want (they are about $85 each from Jeep).

I haven’t ordered from them yet as I was trying to completely DeBadge and having 392 on the Hood defeats that goal. So I did try a DIY Rivet approach for the holes in the hood.

Went to auto parts stores and finally ACE Hardware looking for the smallest trim plugs that might work. Got the Touchup paint stick from Jeep that comes with both color and clear coat all in one. Sanded the little round tops, 3 coats of paint, 3 coats of clear, let them cure for a couple days and pushes them in. Kind of an old school Rivet look. If I decide to keep it like this I’ll pull the plugs and trim off the very top ridges on the shaft so they sit completely flush and put a thin bead of sealer under the button top to seal the holes.

Anyway, take a look at the pics and let me know what ya think.

Looks good! Just curious why you wanted to de-badge though?

Good question. I guess I’ve never been one to like logos, branding and such.
With the 392 I’m not a fan of the Bronze/Gold accent with the Blue, so those two things working together was my motivation. Just personal preference.
I have seen a Black and Bronze 392 here on the forum where the bronze is highlighted with more accents and racing strips up the hood etc.. I’d drive with a big smile no problem. Reminds me of Smoky and the Bandit 😎C71D0B9F-3C2D-42BF-806E-BE070FF2CBD3.webp

At first I wanted to de-badge, then I found out about the holes in the hood so I planned to just go subdued with everything dark grey or black. In the end I started to like the bronze with the granite crystal, I just could not deal with the color of the tow hooks so I changed them.

Does it really matter what side you buy? LT or RT??? What side did you order?

The on both sides the front and back holes are different. I think I remember the rear is round and front is rectangular, with different ID. I also think the tabs are a different diameter. I replaced my emblems with a plugs but I wasn’t thoughtful enough to take pictures of the holes.

The holes are alignment guides so they get the emblems on in the correct place. Why they couldn’t use a template boggles my mind.

As mentioned, if you cut off the tabs you can install on either side.

Just order one from moparonlineparts.com 59.99

Thanks,
Just like Shockerracing said, if you are using it for the back, just snip the tabs, I used a little sandpaper where the tabs were then I added a tiny piece of automotive double sided tape. Probably overkill because it already comes with the 2sided tape applied.
