Borla's 392 Exhaust

Just now got my exhaust put on but I ran into an issue with the 8100s that came with my AEV XP kit. The exhaust really needs to be more toward the front about 3/4”. I have the muffler pushed as far back as I can get it. It’s touching the heat shield on the floor of the cargo area and offset to the passenger side about 1/2”. I only have about 1/4” & 1/8” of space between the reservoirs and the exhaust tubing. I’d like to try some longer rubber hangers on both sides of the muffler to gain a bit more clearance. If it remains an issue BFH customs can modify the clearance a bit more.

Just received an update. Mine is being delivered Monday.

Get yourself an exhaust hanger removal tool if you don’t have one yet. Makes the install way easier.
Already have one. 🤓

Just received the acoustical wind pipes of the angels today.
Not sure who the dude was complaining about “muscling” the2 boxes when his was delivered, but I just watched a 115 lbs lass carry these like her new born baby, from the delivery truck to the garage door.
👩🏼‍🦰 💪🏼

Wow thats crazy how close they are. I was planning on a Borla myself and was just about to order one, but having the same AEV setup and shocks as you do, I cant see anyway there isn't a ton of interference that happens on the trail. Super bummed now, but thanks for sharing.

Where did you end up with this? Were you able to figure out how to make it work without interfering with the 8100s?

I haven’t really messed with it yet. It doesn’t seem to be rubbing on the shocks. I guess when the exhaust tubing warms up it has enough clearance, although I’m sure it has to be touching the body heat shield in the rear.
The sound that comes from this exhaust is worth all the trouble.
Worst case is I’ll put a small dent on each elbow.
You can’t hear anything touching or rattling.

Update on my Black, ATAK.
Borla is honoring their warranty.
I wrote them ,sent pics expressed I felt they would have had a better ceramic process than I would have at home.
My last Borla, was stainless, I applied ceramic that lasted nearly 4 years prior to flaking off. The ATAK for the JL, a lasted less than 1k miles.
They offered to send a new unit, and have me send back the old unit, at their cost. After I thought about it, I asked them if they changed their process. They have not. With this, I don’t want to waste their or my time to swap, just to risk having this happen again, which they state it may. They then said/offered to refund me a portion of my purchase. I suspected maybe $300 for the difference between stainless and ceramic.
Nope… They offered me $1300 in refund for the failed ceramic. I’m taking it. The conditions of the partial refund are, I forfeit the warranty. Which, I’m not concerned with for a 1/2 price exhaust.
I feel this is more than fair, and far more than I was expecting.
This, is also why I prefer dealing with them as compared to others. They simply stand by their product.

My borla is flaking as well, what info did you need when you called? Im not sure if I still have the warranty card

Worth every penny…of 2700, All I paid also
When these were first introduced they were advertised at over $4K, I haven't followed them since then but where can a person get a Borla 392 exhaust for $2.7K? Pictured is what I went with, stock exhaust with RH Skid plate and powder coated exhaust tips.
