Been reading post by all the experts who DO NOT have longs arms and why you shouldn't either...forgot to mention Bryce @ Dixie 4x4. He is very knowledgeable with the JL and has done multiple projects just like what you are looking to do. Good Luck with your research.
Trevor the owner of WFO and is a great guy. He is actually the one who convinced me to sell my fully built out CJ7 crawler for the new JL 392. He also has his own personal 392 with long arms.
FWIW
I too am on an EVO long arm kit 4.5" lift, with 38s, and the Fox 3.0s, + other mods
Changes/upgrades made completely changed the vehicle...
Stock XR had 2+" of up travel...maybe. No more riding the bump stops at +30mph...
But I live in the west where I have rocks and lots of open space...
Ordered several color swatches from prismatic powders and had my daughter choose one. Then went to see John at Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara, CA. who powdered both the wheels and lock rings for me.
Hi there,
Tried to copy/paste the other comments to you but was limited to 420 characters or something like that. I had 2A comments/references and didn't want any woke people to lose their minds and get me banned from the forum...I would be more that happy to share any feedback
Let me know-...
Tried to send you the additional information but was limited to 420 characters.
For my preference wouldn't say stiff...firmer than with the stock XR springs, shocks, and tires.
One thing to note is that I have a heavy build:
Wheel/tire package with the Grenade Crawl beadlocks and 13.5 TGs...
FOX 3.0 Internal By-Pass with the FOX IFP Bump stops (front and rear)
For my build to go along with the EVO long arm it was the best option. They are a bit shorter than the typical KING C/O so with the amount of droop/up travel I was looking for they were perfect.
Great for crawling...
