Just wanted to recommend a product. I recently started using Android Auto as I like Waze when I am taking road trips, but hated that I had to hook plug in the phone. I'd prefer to use the Uconnect screen instead of my phone screen. I don't like the wires hanging every where in my Jeep. As we all know, Uconnect doesn't have wireless Android Auto. You have to plug in to either the Media USB or the Center Console USB to use Android Auto.

I discovered there are some wireless adapters that give you wireless Android Auto. You simple plug in the wireless adapter to one of the Android Auto compatible USB ports and now you have wireless functionality!

I bought the Motorola MA-1 adapter. I plugged it in the center console adapter so it stays nice and hidden. Android Auto boots rights up when I get in the car wirelessly now.

I got it for $100 from Target.

There are a few other brands people are using, but this one seemed smallest and most recently released.

One thing I noticed is that you have to completely unpair your phone from Uconnect. Having both seems to cause a conflict and can cause the wireless to drop intermittently. Once you remove the phone from the Uconnect favs and have your phone forget Uconnect, the wireless Android Auto seems to work flawlessly. Boots right up and connects automatically within 10 secs of starting vehicle.

I just switched over to the SuperiorTek 5.0 a few days ago from Carplay2Air. I wasn't unhappy with Carplay2Air, but did sometimes have a random drop and/or some minor latency, so decided to look if there was a newer product. If you believe the marketing propaganda this one is supposedly a slightly newer/upgraded technology with a better frequency range. I read a few separate online review comparisons of competing products that placed it at the top of the ratings list and decided to try it out. Only had it for a few days, but it's been completely stable so far. It has not dropped yet at all (knock on wood) and I've noticed no latency in phone calls or music. Will see if that rings true as I have for a longer period time, but so far so good if anyone is interested.

If I unpair from Unconnect, I can't make calls right?

No you can make calls with it unpaired through Android Auto. It downloads your contacts, etc when car is started. Operates exactly like if you connected via bluetooth.

I may try pairing my phone again to see if I still get a conflict. I was experiencing a connection issue but it turns out if there is a particular type of radar in the area, it can interrupt the wireless connection. In my town, I lose a connection at the same spot (whole foods parking lot).

Otherwise, it has been working flawlessly.

Oh nice, that makes sense. I didn't think about Android Auto having calls too. Think I'm going to order one of these. Thanks for the heads up. I've seen a bunch of them but wasn't sure if any were worth a damn.

Definitely worth it. The main advantage for me is being able to use google maps and waze with the head unit screen and not having to plug in the phone. My phone is usually charged and I hate having the wires flopping around everywhere when I am not charging.

Same, hate that wire. I use Google Maps everywhere I go to avoid traffic so having that and YouTube Music available without the cord will be nice. Thanks again.

Oh did you plug in using the plug in the dash or the one in the center console?

I've been using the center console so it stays hidden.

I keep mine plugged into the center console USB, locked away inside the Tuffy Console Locker.

Thanks guys. It was sold out most places but Target had one. I'll get it next week.

2023 392 built in Aug.... iPhone wirelessly connected to Uconnect 8.4....Had an issue yesterday with iPhone dropping call and then communication with Uconnect.
I was listening to Sirius radio, got a call, after a few minutes the call dropped. Not an iPhone signal strength issue. I called person back, call soon dropped again, but this time Uconnect radio froze up with static noise. Touching screen did nothing. After a few minutes, while still driving, radio seemed to reset itself and Sirius radio resumed.
I then saw on screen "loading contacts" and iPhone reconnected to Uconnect. No more issues.
Then on way back home, in same general area, I happened to be on phone again and call dropped again. This time i didn't try to recall until out of area. Uconnect, Sirius radio, didn't lock up this time?

Anyone experienced anything similar to this?

I just ordered one, I haven't been able to get my Android auto to work so figured I would try this. 2023 that once worked but no longer.

I installed it today and it works immediately which tells me the issue is with the cabling and/or ports I in the jeep. For $50 delivered next day from Amazon you cant go wrong. I also installed in the center console and it worked perfectly.

Which device did you get?
How reliable is it?
