Who's running 38's

38x12.5x17 Ridge Grapplers with -12 Innov8 Racing forged simulated bead locks. Doing research to swap to true bead locks and either 38x13.5x17 TG or 40x13.5x17 MT Baja Boss. Clayton Coils, 1” spacer in front to level, AAL liners and metal cloak bumps. No rubbing.

I have a 2024 392 XR. My wife lost her job recently and I'm retired so basically we have no extra money. I was wondering if I do inner fenders can I run 38's on it? Or even 39x13.50R17 BFGoodrich KO3's that measure around 37.5 inches tall. I mostly do dirt roads but do hit Moab a couple of times a year and run trails like Hell's Revenge, Metal Masher and Top of the World. I will eventually go with Teraflex 3.5 Springs and Falcon shocks but I don't know how soon I can afford them. I also have no problem with trimming the body on the rear of the rear wheel well if needed.

Thanks, Medsker

I've seen it done , but probably better guys on hear who can give you great detail information. Wheel backspace will be a factor for sure , also trimming and bump stops.

I have 35’s with MC 3 1/2 game changer most of us in the club do as well many of them have the 38’ s they rub slightly in the rear on plastic liner. A few of us have changed out the rear 3 1/2 for mc’s 4 1/2 coils . Stock your gonna rub under full articulated situations

Yeah sounds like he's stock suspension, that's why I said trimming and add bump to limit his articulation. I know a guy who did that he runs 38's. It still rubs a bit , but not so much to make him change tire size.

See my post a few above. I havnt added any additional bump stop just replaced the stock ones with MC durospring. You just need to swap inner fenders (AAL for me not sure about with others) and either gut the oem ones or swap them and you should be good. Not sure if OEM wheels with spacers would do it.

Mine was flexed to the bumps front and rear many times and could find anywhere it rubbed.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it may work but would be easier with a 3-1/2 inch lift. I'll have to think about whether to try it or not. It will be a few months before I need new tires so I'll decide before then.

No worries on that here. I live rural poor NY. :ninja:

Might see a clapped out 1990 chevy on 40's

What tire carrier should I look into? Im assuming I wont get a 38 on the stock one...
Don't go with AEV. It rattles and I am constantly having to make adjustments.

CavFab makes a great tire carrier for a good price. Rock solid and doesn't rattle with my 40s

I've never had a rattle on my '23 with the AEV bumper and tire carrier and it is holding 38" Baja Boss spare.
