Who’s upgrading their t-case? Price, install and ratio questions answered.

So what is the feedback on the ratio selection?

I was thinking 3.0 , I wasnt sure if I needed to go lower with the tourque we have.. I have fusion 60s on 4.88's on 40's.

Mt tcase rumbles like the chain is stretched at 13k mles, but I am hard on it.
Toy Store called to tell me Atlas won’t warranty the 4.3 with the 392 so I’m going 3.8. They also said it’s stronger. YMMV.

392 goes under the knife first week of October. I’m wondering if the electronics can still fubar the lockers despite the Atlas. My biggest gripe with four JLs is electronics getting in the way when I’m in 4L.

I just finished this install. Very easy, fits great.

I went 3:0.1 and its perfect with 42s and 5.38 gears on the 392
Awesome.
Any quick tips on installation?

Let me know if you need pictures of anything.

I just completed the Atlas Transfer Case 3.8:1 install myself. I agree that dropping the fuel tank skid plate helps. I have Next Venture Motorsports skid plates and had to remove the Engine/Transmission, Transfer Case and lower the fuel tank skid plate. The instructions could be a little better. The 2 cannon plugs that connect to the back of the transfer case are opposite in the picture from the instructions. You are also suppose to get four 24" heat shields for the shift cables but only received two. They are sending more of that to me next week. They also tell you that you don't need to purchase a DTCM from a NON 392 Rubicon which is incorrect, you do have to. I ended up with 2 lock washers and a bolt. I called and they said they were not needed and should of been taken out of the kit. Having extra parts left over after an install isn't something you like to have. Until I get my new DTCM my lockers and off road do not work.

Thank you for this. Going under the knife Monday. Asked my shop how they’re getting the lockers to work.

I just used the tazer to not recognize the DTCM. I have aftermarket axles/lockers though.

I have about 300 miles on the transfer case. Did a coupe of easy trails yesterday, about 10 miles in 4Lo and abut 5 miles in 4Hi to get things broken in. Got back on the highway and had a new noise coming through the shifter handles. The rear axle shifter cable had dropped down and was rubbing on the rear driveshaft. I had thought about zip tying the cables up where they go through the floorboard but there was nothing in the instructions about it. The cables were not close to the driveshaft but once things get hot they drop a little. I also wrapped the exhaust near the transfer case with exhaust header heat wrap. Worried about the oil sight tube getting hot along with the transfer case as my skid plates don't allow a lot of air flow. I also added a (FAD) Front Axle Disconnect motor to my front axle connected to a toggle switch. No since in running 2H with the front driveshaft spinning.

I just picked up Thanos with PSC and Atlas and Front Range Driveline driveshafts installed.

Steering is so light now and quicker on pavement. Dead stop and no effort to turn the wheel. Night and day difference.

Played in my gravel and the 3.8 ratio crawl is noticeable. Wants to now tug with your foot on the brake like my 4.88 geared ‘21 JLR.

Service Locker light is on but both stock lockers work. HCP4x4 used a Rubi DTCM to get them to work. They said Advanced Adapters is fixing to include one in the future for 392 customers. Transfer case indicator lights work and I now have the 2H light. Same pattern as a rock trac.

Need to go back for my upholstered boot and for them to tweak the linkage cables. Pulling both sticks back into low is a bear right now.

How did the install go? Did they replace the DTCM?

Awesome.

How does the PSC setup feel at highway speeds? I'm considering their adventure kit without the cylinder assist.

Are you going to try a different DTCM to get the service locker light off?

Need ti see a gratuitous front dig:LOL:

Quicker steering at highway speeds. Quick enough I’m not letting anyone else drive him. We know to brake before swerving.

I’m OCD but will get used to the light. Similar issue with one of my bikes with a non halogen headlight.

Haha. Did feel different just using the front driveshaft.

Interesting how quick the steering is. Wonder if it's solely the steering box ratio or the cylinder is exaggerating it. Thanks for the feedback here.

Good luck getting used to the light! I'm OCD too and know how it is lol.

Will be interesting to see how you like the 3.8 rario in the Atlas when you hit a rocky tail.

I’m pretty sure you can turn off the locker lights with the Tazer. I’m on Currie axles and I don’t have any lights and my lockers are wired to Aux 1 and 2… but maybe the stock lockers are somehow different.

Locker light turned off. I’m guessing I hit a certain number of key cycles. YMMV.
