Hey all, just got the 392, has 900 miles on it. When accelerating under light to medium pedal, and mainly after first gear there's a whirring sound that is somewhat loud, and noticeable with the windows down. Sounds like an exhaust whir or the sound you'd hear from an old work truck that has a ton of miles on it. When I hammer it, you can't really hear it but that may be because of the loud exhaust note. Didn't notice for the first 400 miles. Doesn't make the sound when in park and neutral with the same pedal force applied, which is why I don't think it's exhaust. Is this common from these engines and transmissions? First hemi I've owned and I hope it's just normal, but it sounds like shit. EDIT: Attached a recording. Don't pay attention to the traffic in the background, but when I accelerate to a constant speed and hold it you'll notice the sound. It stops when I take my foot off.

Cant really hear it in the video... but is it the cylinder deactivation (MDS) kicking in? It makes a different exhaust note and I can actually feel it in the throttle. Will happen when youre not accelerating and just chuggin along

@LMac , when you hear this, do you see a 4 cyl indicator lit up on the dash under the center gauge area?

Doesn’t sound abnormal

No, it's not when I'm going into cylinder shutdown. It's when I'm accelerating. It stops when lay off the pedal. Same sound when I deactivate performance exhaust too.

That's the noise the from the whirlpool forming in the gas tank when the Hemi is sucking gas...;)
