What's the recommendation from this forum on when to do the 1st Oil Change? How many Miles / Time ?

Jeep thinks you'll change it around 1 time a year seeing as they give you 3 free oil changes to be used in 36 months. My rule of thumb is just before the Oil Life indicator gets to 10%. Some people do the 1st one early to clean out the break in debris.

Jeep 392 manual says every 6 months or at intervals of 10,000 miles, then 20,000 miles, then 30,000 miles etc...

For those who change their own oil, Jeep also recommends these at the first oil change- Rotate the tires, rotate at the first sign of irregular wear, even if it occurs before scheduled maintenance. If using your vehicle for any of the following: dusty or off-road conditions, then inspect the engine air cleaner filter; replace if necessary. Inspect the brake linings; replace if necessary. Inspect the CV/Universal joints.

My plan when mine arrives.
1000 miles - first oil change. Install magnetic oil drain plug. Mobil 1 decal installed on the back window, lower left corner. All our vehicles get the decal. Wife thinks I'm a little crazy. LOL
4000 miles - oil change.
every 5000 miles - oil change.
Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 0-40w and Napa Gold or Premium oil filter.
Tires rotated every 5000 miles.

Our 2 Dr. JL Rubicon gets the oil changed every 3,000
I did mine at 3399 miles, had been thinking about doing it at around 3k miles. You can see from the pics, the oil has become pretty dark https://www.jeep392.com/threads/my-first-ever-oil-change-and-takeaways.1362/
Our 2dr. JL Rubicon gets an o change every 4000 miles.
It sits in the garage most of the time. Wife works at home and uses it for her once a week massage appointments. We drive it on the weekends too.

Just used the first of three (fourth included if you bought from Chapman Jeep (Horsham, PA) at 1532 miles (2 months of ownership). Great service team at Brown’s Jeep (Sterling, VA)!

This is my exact same schedule. Should hit 1k this weekend, so will start the process then.

It's not just your wife... :ROFLMAO:

I intend to change mine for the first time at 1,500 miles give or take. After that, every 6 months as I won't rack up the mileage to do it any earlier. I may and may not use the free oil changes provided by Jeep.
