What are you going to modify first on your new 392? Or are you going to wait?

Remove all badging [Jeep, 392, Wrangler, Rubicon] and paint the tow hooks black. Then paint the internals of the frame with two coats of Eastwood internal frame paint.
Why? Not a fan of bronze?
There is already a thread about this topic...
37” Nitto trail grapplers. 18” Black Rhino 9”w warlord wheels. Then a bull bar, roll bar grips with bronze(if found), replace antenna with something black or bronze (black Jeep), shoulder armor maybe, new lights maybe, tail light armor.

I’m not compelled to do much to the 392 because it already has the V8, quad exhaust and upgraded suspension all under warranty.

I’ll eventually want to add 35” tires with new rims, probably retune/program. Maybe some skid plates. I think the stock configuration will be more than adequate for the SoCal desert trips I plan on.

Just minor stuff to start out with for me:
  • Stubby antenna
  • Rear seat delete kit
  • Fridge/Freezer to Aux switch
  • Pod lights to Aux switch
  • CB/GPS
  • Roof rack?
  • Bike rack
  • Need to figure something out for surfboard

Now that you mention it, the rear cargo area does seem narrow as compared to my old JK. I would love to know the difference between the 2.
Don’t take it for fact, but I do believe the rear cargo area may be narrower where the rear passenger side speaker is(because of the exhaust, reinforced frame and suspension?). Also, there is a loss of vertical cargo space under the cargo mat(which doesn’t sound like it would affect rear seat delete kit/ I saw pictures of this). I’ll have to ask Goose Gear about it.

Anyone that can confirm or disprove, please chime in. I took a quick look and couldn’t find where I read this. I did read this in another forum or article somewhere. If I see it again I’ll update with a link.

**Edit: from @Shockerracing : "Other than the storage tub, the entire back area appears to be exactly the same between a JLU and a 392."

Thanks!!

-I asked Goose Gear if their kits will fit the 392. They got right back to me. Their response is here:
“Thank you for your interest in Goose Gear. At this time we are not sure. We plan to take a look at the 392 to see the differences, however we are not sure as to when we can get one in our shop to take a look.

If you would like to stay up to date with the system for the Wrangler 392, you can submit a vehicle suggestion on our website. Here is the link: https://www.goose-gear.com/pages/goose-gear-vehicle-suggestion

-So, can’t confirm that the 392’s rear cargo space is narrower at this point. Probably worth asking @Shockerracing about it. There is a difference between JK and JL models. Not sure if there is a difference between the 392 and other JLUs.

-This thread talks about the reduced vertical space in the under mat cargo storage and references the videos by @Shockerracing:

-This thread has some interesting information on modifications being done to a 392:

Replace the factory silver lug nuts with Black ones. I did this to my TrackHawk and gained 1 HP per lug nut so 20 HP gain overall! I to this day do not understand why manufacturers insist on putting silver lug nuts on vehicle wheels that are a color other than chrome or silver.

This is totally inappropriate for this forum but need to ask what else you did to your wife's TH suspension wise after lowering? Thank you in advance!!

Pretty sure this is the right crowd for this kind of discussion at least... :-) Nothing else really except the camber arms for the rears (the fronts were within adjustment ranges, but no adjustment on the stock rears, so did Bwoody's). Since the drop is something like 1.1 front, 1.6 rear, the rest of the geometries still fall well within stock ranges (shock travel, etc.) Looks wicked with the only downside is it hits the bumpstops every once in a while on the hardest bumps and settings. If you want more info or pics, let's jump to DM, or even DM me your e-mail. Cheers!

So guys, this is going to be my first jeep wrangler and of course just like everybody else I would like to customize it and I want to start slow so first thing I would like to replace the antenna then I would like to add winch ,bar and some lights to the front maybe replace tires go to 35s and add a hoist for the top in the garage

so if you’re already done it Or going to do it and have some links to the items please let me know or if you can give me some information
Got mine few days ago

Haven't figured out the direct messaging for this site yet. Lowered mine as well with Eibach springs. Installed the full set of BWoody suspension upgrade goodies available for the vehicle along with an Eibach rear sway bar. Difference in handling is night a day... corners like a slot car and the front end does not lift anymore on hard acceleration and shifting.

The rear cargo tub on the 392 is much smaller than the other JLU's. From what I can tell it is because the 392 Exhaust pipe drops down through that space and there is additional heat shielding up in there.

Aside from the cargo tub, is the rear space in general any different(narrower where the rear speaker/subwoofer is) than other JLUs?

Do you think rear seat delete kits made for 2018+JLUs would fit? Or, would the 392 need new stuff to be developed for it, in your opinion?
