Warn Winch model?

Anyone have experience with the EVO models, China version of Zeon winch?
It’s a solid winch, cordless controller. I like mine. I can’t speak on longevity yet, I’ve had mine mounted since June.

I feel that a wireless controller with a fail safe wired backup is essential when buying a winch.

The manual says to connect the negative directly to the battery. I'm inclined to connect the negative to the negative binding post where the negative battery lead meets the chassis. Reason being that I've heard if you connect directly to the battery the internal jeep computer won't measure amp draw correctly. Thoughts on this???

We are looking at a VR EVO 12S. If you don't mind us asking, what winch plate did you use for mounting? We are seeing some folks say they had mounting issues with the 392. Thanks!

Hi Ben-do you happen to have any pictures of how your ran your wiring? We used your advice and purchased the Warn plate and have a 12S VR, but the wiring is very visible. When we try to reroute it, our positive wire is not long enough. Your build is nice and clean and was hoping you may have a pic or two. I saw another post where you also added the Maximus 3 filler plates and that will cover some of it, but it's bothering my OCD a bit on the outside and my boyfriend's under the hood, lol. Trying to not take everything apart to add a longer wire. Thank you in advance.

@BenLandry What do you have on your engine for the "red" color accents?
I was wiping all the pollen off of the engine a while back and the gold paint on the rails was chipping off. I’m pretty OCD about stuff like that. So I sanded the paint off, came off too easy btw. I had my 13year old daughter paint them using red brake caliper paint. Might do the numbers also at some point. Wanted to see how this holds up. Been on there for 6weeks or so.
