75 in a 60. Warning ticket luckily. He did say it sounded good.

Lucky you. Thank you, Officer.

Oof, whew. I travel a long stretch of 55 mph a lot. I set my ACC at 71 (sometimes 72) and haven't had issues so far (I just screwed myself for next time lol). I think it's because of the jackholes that travel down it going 85 or so. They seem to be the ones the cops are trying to target.

No radar detector? Yikes.
Am I the only one who thinks radar detectors are not very useful anymore? So many false alerts, because everything uses radar these days, then most newer equipment are pulsed radar or laser. By the time you get the alert, the cop already has the ticket started.

My Valentine One started alerting to every GM vehicle with the bumper sensors, and they wanted $450 to update it. I just turned it off, and sold it with the JK...

Well from my experience, my Uniden R7 and R8 have saved me multiple times in both my 392 and TRX. False alerts are typically K band, which you can turn off.

Also, I have Waze running on the vehicle's Android app.

Doing way over limit naked is just asking for the ticket.

Waze has been excellent in cop / speed trap warnings. I don't see a need for a radar detector. When I'm on road trips, I usually set my ACC for around 70-75mph.

I normally do 75-85 ACC and tend to keep a nice distance between the cars ahead and behind. Certain interstates can be tricky and I just do 75 - 78 when the speed limit is 70. Been lucky so far.

HOV lanes are where I go over 90 but just for a short distance.

No radar detector and no plan to get one.

If only Waze didn't look so much like a cartoon....

I've found traffic tends to flow naturally at 75-80 regardless of speed limit in non congested areas.

Agreed. Certain sections have lower than average speed limit, say 50 while most people drive 70ish. Sometimes drivers behind me can be pushy on the left lane, I just shift to right lane and let them take over the left then follow them. Figured less chance I'll get a ticket :). I always teach my kids "Do Not Engage".

This license plate is way better than any radar detector I ever owned. It use to be on my old F150 and when I was traveling for work it got me out of a couple tickets. During my Monday morning 2.5 hour commute I got pulled over for 70 in a 45 at 5am on a deserted road, the cop walked up to the door and said,

cop “Where’s the fire?”
me “There’s no fire, I’m just running late.”
cop “Ok, pay attention. Where’s the fire?”
me “right up the road.”
cop “ok, drive safe and slow down.”

Unfortunately now it’s on my slowest vehicle but the one I take to most emergencies because it’s small and easy to park out of the way.
but every cop I meet on the road waves, so apparently they pay attention to plates.

I typically use WAZE, but I had just gotten on the highway and had zipped around some tractor trailers on the right on a 3-lane highway. I think the officer was in traffic somewhere on the other side of the tractor trailers. First thing he said is don’t attract attention to yourself in your 392. lol

That looks like a nice highway. The speed limit would be 75 in Texas.
Drive 75 in DFW will get you ran over. I have always considered myself a fast driver normally going 10-15 mph over the limit. Now people are flying by me left and right.
