Planning on doing a road trip and wanted to put together a minimalist tool & supply kit.
Not going anywhere overland just sightseeing and some easy trails.

Thinking basics
-oil
-coolant
-water
-air compress
-jump start box/cables

Any real must haves? Looking for suggestions for specific tools from those with experience on these Jeeps.
Maybe add a solid breaker bar combo for wheels and a bottle jack?

THANKS in advance

When people were having some weird electrical issues and fixing them by disconnecting the battery for a period of time I bought a combination wrench with 10mm and 12 mm ends. Stays in my glovebox. Every car battery I have run into uses 10 or 12mm fasteners.

A day trip can turn into a 2+ day trip if not prepared.
I carry a go-box on all my vehicles.
Wrenches, sockets, breaker bar, battery impact driver, screw drivers, torx drivers, adjustable wrench, knife, electrical tape, misc wire, hatchet, tire plug kit, rags, hand cleaner, jumper cables/jump box, light, fuses, tie wraps, lighter, hacksaw, etc. Most that fits in a plastic tool box and canvas bag.
Plus a separate bag of recovery gear items.

Potable water and high protein food, extra clothes, extra shoes/socks and blanket for a longer than expected trip.

With a 392, always start with a full tank of gas!

That’s the kind of info I was thinking. I don’t want to pack a whole toolbox but a couple key sizes like the 10/12mm combo is what I was thinking

I keep a tool roll, an impact, bottle jack, tire repair kit, straps, zip ties, jumper box in my Jeep at all times.

A winch and on-board air are installed and I have spare water and protein bars in the fridge at all times.

Will you be traveling far enough that you will need an oil change?
If so, you might want to bring the supplies as local service places (other than Jeep dealer may not have the right oil & filter).

I don't bother bringing coolant; for an emergency, water will suffice until the next town.
Our JL's are Torx fastener centric.
For a minimalist road trip tool set I carry:
Torx set
Needle nose & regular pliers
Adjustable wrenches - large & small
Philips and straight screw drivers
Zip ties, duct tape, tie wire
Tire pressure gauge

For miscellaneous travel needs:
Shovel, TP, hand wipes
Flashlight
First aid kit
Spare key fob

Pre-load any GPS nav data (if cell phone data may not be available)
Spare water, food, outer wear & fuel as appropriate
Some cash

I added a long breaker bar and socket to the jack storage area. For routine trips I've found the factory jack to be sufficient. If you do want a more stout jack, an option is a pickup truck mechanical bottle jack. They are much heavier duty, will work in any position and will not leak.

Have a great trip!

Tire plug kit for sure, first aid kit and fire extinguisher. I keep a full roll of 3M electrical tape and Tesa tape in the glove box, cigarette lighter and flashlight. I have a tool roll I put together with the most common tools I use on the Jeeps, rolls are nice because the tools don’t rattle against each other.
