There are no videos on YouTube. Apparently the manual mentions it but doesn't exactly say how to use it and when it's to be used.

I believe you have to be in off road plus and apply the brake (not sure how hard) then hit the gas (not sure how hard) Apparently the exhaust note will change so you know it's activated and then just ket if the brake and floor it.

It changes the shift points to access the fastest 0-60 time and launches much harder than just stomping on it from a stop.

I'll play around today but was curious for those that knew about this feature and use it what you can tell me.

Thanks everyone!

I don’t think it requires off-road+ mode. I’ve tried with just the break and gas pedals. The hood lifted at one point then I released the break.

Off Road plus not required but driving around in off road + is pretty fun.
Pump brakes a couple of times, hold brake pressure, rev engine to 2000-2500 rpm. Anymore than that seems to walk through the brakes. There is a clear engine sound change after a second or 2…let her rip!

Ok so once you hear the distinct engine change sound release the brake and just floor it? Sorry my gtr was just floor brake. Slam gas. Hear revs pegged and release brake. This is a little different

Off road plus button I "think" helps...
Hold the brake, press and hold the gas. Wait a sec. Release the brake. Smile! :D
If you turn the traction control back on (ie, not in Off Road+) all the sissy controls take over and it seems to not really work.

From the 392 Performance supplement:
TORQUE RESERVE
Torque Reserve is automatically enabled while
staging a Brake Torque Launch, to reduce the
time required for the intake system to fill with
air. Torque Reserve provides greater engine
airflow than is otherwise required, stops fuel
flow to multiple cylinders and retards spark as
necessary to hold the torque from the extra
airflow “in reserve”. As soon as the driver
launches the car, fuel flow is restored and spark
is advanced to instantaneously deliver the
reserve torque. For a given launch engine
speed, additional torque is delivered more
quickly than is possible without Torque Reserve.
NOTE:
Due to the way the engine is controlled during
Torque Reserve, a distinct exhaust note is
produced and engine vibration increases.

Press and hold the brake all the way down hard? Then floor the gas fully? That's how most launch control systems work but this one seems different. If you've done it can you confirm the exact process and is there any visual clue that woukd say launch enabled or you just have to listen for the change in exhaust tone?

Hold the brake pretty hard... don't floor the gas, but as your depress it, you'll actually hear the engine tune change about 1/3 to 1/2 press... when you do, release the brake WHILE continuing to press on the gas.

It took me a try or two because it really wants to push through the brakes...

Yep, if you floor it during braking it will walk through because of the AWD. If you line lock it with the Tazer or just hold brake pressure with it in 2WD with the Tazer then it holds no problem …..while you smoke the shit out of your tires

Make sure and do a few launches without the torque reserve just to compare launch and shift pattern.

Oh I don't have a tazer or 2wd. I'll just try it like you said though. Thanks !

Operates just like Launch Control with the GCSRT. Only difference is the GC has a button, gives a display on the dash, shows brake pedal pressure, and in the set up, you can change the RPM preset.
The GC also indicates the steering correction if needed.

So basically the same except all of that lol I wish we at least had some kind of screen indication that it's activated but I guess once I hear the change in exhaust note I'll get use to it.

I didn't get to try it yesterday. Timing wasn't right and no clear spots but I did try off road plusb and that was fun. Reminded me of the sport button on my old wk2 trail hawk 5.7.

Funny thing happened the last time I used it, it acted like a line lock and starting spinning the rear tires with the front locked. Engine revved up until exhaust noted changed, let off the brake floored it and left about 20' of black rubber marks and almost lifted the front end off the ground. This was with Tazer in 2WD mode & 37s, had people yelling and cheering o_O(y):giggle::devilish:

So quick update. I tried it today but it didn't work.

Pressed brake firmly.

Started giving it gas. It immediately reacted to the gas. It held in place but it wanted to go. I noticed no change at all in exhaust or engine note so I don't think it was ready to launch.

One thing to mention though on the off road page it did show 0 pitch but there was 1 degree of roll showing.

Guessing if there is any pitch or roll it will not engage?

Possibly, I don’t know for sure tho…it’s hard to keep it from rolling through the brakes. Try pumping your brakes a couple times then floor your brakes. 2000-2500 RPMs
