Ted392 Mods

Ted, couple Qs on your solenoid if you don’t mind. I looked into using it and makes great sense and will do this as well. Trying to work it through beforehand. The main heavy lugs used for the cable coming from winch and the other going to battery seem straight forward. In your pics, does the green wire on smaller lug go to you Aux 4 wire? Or is it the ground? Where does the wire connected to other small lug go? Sure appreciate your help.

For the small terminals (coil), one of mine goes to Aux 4 wire. The other (green wire) goes to the Negative on the battery. So when you press aux 4, the coil engages and sends positive battery power to winch. Then use winch as intended. Press aux 4 when done with winch.

Cool and think I’m ready. Just ordered kit. Thx for all your help.

Booked a house in Ouray end of July. The place I usually stay at (for many years) is booked. In fact many places are booked already. Come on summer, get here!

Have not touch the 392 for awhile. Battery tender doing it's job though.

Need to figure out a rear shelf setup and storage.

So I put the 392 on the lift to change oil. I also did an inspection and found this. The drivers side parking brake cable has a large wear spot on it. I did the synergy relocation cable kit. So this is not good. I'll have to seal up the cable, worn down pretty far. Yhen I'll have to secure the cable away from the differential stud.

I concur that boss has a flat sharp edge , I bought four button head bolts and four zink coated sae washers and threaded them into the four bosses it makes for a smooth surface. Four bolts are not necessary as only rear driver side seems to be the conflict . But I didn’t want those threaded holes to fill up with debris.
what are those bosses for anyways. The 2022 diesel does not have them.sorry pic doesn’t have bolts installed yet.

No clue on the purpose, but a pia nonetheless. Good idea with the bolts/washers.

Not much progress on Zippy. Changed the engine oil and filter.
To do list: add a rear shelf, storage thingys and gun magnets.View attachment 32347
Take a look at the CMM/Alien Gear kit vs the magnet mounts. Clean install and trigger guard. I thought it may interfere to much with my calf but it rests comfortably against it.

Thanks for the idea. Looks great.
Currently I mounted a magnet mount yesterday. I'll go be-bop some trails and see if it secures to my liking.

The adhesive would never stick on the ones I tried and I wasn't going to put holes in the trim.

Decided on getting the M.O.R.E. engine skid plate and the GenRight rear cargo shelf plus some molle storage bags. Need to get an oil pan drain thingy. Now the shipping wait...

Fumoto oil drain valve ordered. 💸💸
Looks exactly like my order hoping to change the oil next week and install the valve after remove the current drain plug. This will make life much easier and cleaner going forward since I have the full metal cloak belly skid system.

I use a plastic funnel that just fits if I squeeze it slightly in the MC skid hole and it stays in place . I did cut the funnel shorter so the hole is larger otherwise it backs up and spills defeating the whole purpose. those valves are cool but a little scary. This is just my opinion

That’s a great trick. Thanks

Make sure you guys get the drain hose nipple and the Fumoto valve cover too.

The drain hose nipple is super convenient and really eliminates all
Of the mess.

And the little black cover is nice to keep any grit and fine road debris out of the valve nipple.

I’ve had a Fumoto valve on my 2021 GMC 3500 Duramax (10qt oil service) for a few years and 35k miles. It’s so handy and makes oil changes a breeze.

The one on the 392 works very well with the Artec skid too. Work smarter, not harder!

They are on my order! Thanks.
I can't imagine cleaning a skid with oil spilled on it.
