Hey all, I’m planning out my suspension and am seeing if anyone has feedback on one that handles good for a DD, weekend warrior wheeling, and towing a lightweight camper? With the stock I get a bunch of sagging with the camper.

Am looking at the Clayton performance coils, but sounds like they also sag.

If doing a full lift, not planning on going huge, probably 2.5. Maybe Metalcloak with either rocksport black, or Fox elite 2.5. But that’s a lot more money than just springs.

Maybe Clayton with airbags and air them way down when off-road?

In one of the recent posts it talked about the Air Lift 1000. Seems everyone likes the inner spring air bags so far. Inexpensive and easy to install.

I have a ~2500lb (dry/unloaded) camper I tow fairly often. I have an MC 3.5” game changer with Fox 2.5s. Run airlift 1000s in the back at 10#.
Tows quite nice.
I also have a 180f t-stat, fans programmed at 185, +2 qt trans pan, coated headers, and a transmission thermostat bypass. Helps keep temps down quite a bit.
Pic while towing in western NC on i40 running around 65mph, occasionally 70.
Edit: also have 4.88 gears.

I’m in the Denver/metro area and I tow an Opus OP4 (3,500 lbs dry and around 4,500 loaded) and I think I’m running 250/300 springs on my King Coilovers. Before the safety police jump on me… I’m on D70’s and 40’s ++ I try to keep her under 90 mph, in the mountains , if I’m not drunk or on my phone 😉

I’d consider adding air bags for a DD. Accuair makes a 392 specific airbag/lift kit that I’d get… but there are less expensive options out there.

A load distribution hitch, as I understand them, may also be a viable option.

Pretty cool. Nice too see someone has the same tow setup as myself. I just need to install the Airlift. I don't tow at the moment but the other cooling mods and 488's help when I'm ripping around the sand dunes on 35's.

Nice.

I towed a bit before adding airlift. Helps with squat for sure.

Too funny 😁. Andersen Hitches makes a new style of LDH. If I end up needing one, I'm going to get this one. Much lighter and easier to use than the traditional style.

I’m curious how they work with the suspension flexed.

Which airlift 1000 part number do you use? Mine is lifted with 3.5” Clayton overland plus and the part number 60829’s bags look way too short. I want to make sure I purchase the correct bags that works for lifted vehicle. TIA.

The website shows you how to measure and go to the parts section and look down the list with the measurements and you'll find the set that will likely fit.

I watched a thread here and did tons of research with them. I should have gone with the recommended ones first but I tried three different versions that were either too skinny or too short. In the end I stayed with 60926 even though according to their website they are oversized. They work perfectly and have been on almost 2 years. Stock suspension.

You can do better than rocksport shocks .
