EASY CAMPERS!!!!!
Ok for those of you that have been asleep while Ben and I have been out doing all the R&D its time to catch up:
First you need wheels and tires that you want, Ben and I chose 20's and 37's- ride is a little harder than I like but looks great.
Second Pedal Commander PC78
Third Tazer Mini, we force 2wd when we put on the Pedal Commander and it makes a HUGE difference.
I cant type the explanation again for the 25th time, learn it, live it, love it.
If you need help, have questions just call my hotline, I cant type anymore or search for threads and you will see Ben and I talking about all this over and over.
Jeeps are more friendly to the Pedal Commander than the Banks. I have tried both.
I had one of the first 392's and had an order in for a Recon and I passed on it because of chip issues and there have been some lemons and right now I have a great Jeep, knock on wood.
Reason being- when I calculate the same scenario of gearing that the regular 392 has the 4.56 came as overkill, will it go 0-60 faster yes, but it will also eat more gas and be worse on a road trip.
HOWEVER, here is the other issue, you have a 100:1 transfer case, for those of you that use 4low that means you will be able to go 5-6mph in 4low but you will kick the shit out of a Bronco. No thanks
I was waiting to see the results of the fuel economy on the Recon, the 392 with 37's could definitely use a taller gear but juice up the PC a little more and you might feel different. Its all about the results of the fuel economy and the 70-80mph attitude that is going to either make the Recon a star or a bust.
Meanwhile, I need to chat with Ben I didnt see that he re-geared. We have better than the answer, we have a guy that has seat time in both and he is smart, not a Forum troll that says what he has is the best always, even if its a pos.
Stay tuned and feel free to PM me for my number. I will speak and you can type
P.S. the Gladiator in my Avatar is a Diesel on 40's with Dana 60's, not my first rodeo. I am not an expert but I have been modifying Jeeps for 35yrs and have not had anything but a Hemi (or a diesel) since 2011 so I have played with a couple of them. When you modify a Jeep and talk to others that have the formula to what gear with what power plant with what size tire becomes like clockwork, now throw a Hemi in the mix and the number of variables changes, thrown 8speed and a hemi in the box and its back to the drawing board and erase everything on it.
I still have a set of AEV Borah's like new for sale for anyone going to a bigger tire and needs a wider wheel than the stock Slim Jim.
