I only have 1.75" of up travel on the front of the jeep and am finally getting around to dealing with it. This is from the pad to the bump stop cup. I have less than an inch to the bump stop.
At ride height it seems like my shocks are 20 3/8 (this may need a more careful measurement - AND to be measured on both sides...)
So given this info - it seems that any shock that can compress to 20.375-1.75=18.625 inches should work fine.
It seems like this 5100 shock should work:
24-310635 ( Fits Vehicles With 3-4.5" Front Lift, Requires appropriate bump stop extensions and aftermarket driveshaft)
Collapsed Length (in): 18.31
Extended Length (in): 28.43
Stroke/travel Length (in): 10.12
I'm wondering if anyone has run this without bump stops?
Also I assume the after market driveshaft is related to the extra ~4" of droop over stock. I wonder if OEM control arms are retained to start if this will really be an issue?
Or should I just play it safe with :
33-292625 (Fits Vehicles With 2-3" Front Lift)
Collapsed Length (in): 17.07
Extended Length (in): 26.88
Stroke/travel Length (in): 9.81
