I’m about 1.5 hours north of Atlanta and 1.5 hours south of Chattanooga.
My wife is afraid they will get damaged if I package them and ship them.

Was you thinking of having a shipper package them?

I really need to get 4500, or my wife will kill me.

I know shipping is high and I could probably ship them myself for much cheaper, but I am afraid that I might not get them boxed up properly.
Local pickup (or within reason) is $4500.
I will drive 4 hours one way for $5500.

Curious what kind of pricing for shipping you might have found. I tried calling a couple fedex stores and the consensus seems to be that it'll cost around 100$ per door just to have the fedex people do it (because it requires a custom box). That's not so bad considering the price of the doors. But then, the declared value of ~5k is a major factor in pricing the actual shipping of the doors. Anyone with more/better info?

Roadie used to be like uber for items. I found a guy that picked up an AC in new york and delivered to MS. He was driving to New Orleans anyway... Worked out great for everyone involved and was cheaper than any regular shipping company.
