'24 Jeep Wrangler 392 - Hydro Blue
A bit of background, but my Jeeping days started with a JK Unlimited Rubicon about 8 years ago. I had been living in the UAE for a while and without a 4x4, my travel options were limited. I always loved the wranglers, so picked up my JK and the exploring began, and so did the JK Build. I can't seem to leave my cars alone, I always start tinkering and 8 years later, the JK is super capable, has taken us to the far reaches of the UAE and Oman, experiencing things that the few that like to venture out here do.

I never really believed that a wrangler would come out with a V8, like most I hoped and dreamed, but never actually thought it would happen. I still love my Supercharged JK build, but always told my wife if they bring out a V8 wrangler, I would get one.

I picked up my new 392 wrangler at the end of April 2022 and couldn't be more thrilled. In the UAE we unfortunately don't have the option for an XR model.

I will be building my 392 for overlanding. In the UAE, Oman and Saudi, its deserts, mountains and Wadi's (Carved out river beds). There are no marked trails as such, you use a map to find your entry point, pick a direction and start exploring. For me the 392 needs to be capable of anything, needs to be comfortable and needs to get me from A to B safely. I'll use my experience on the JK build and adjust to the 392 build.

Been traveling so haven't had a chance to update this post. Along with the Ceramic and PPF install, I had the shop paint the dash to the same colour as the stitching on the interior. This changed the look and feel of the interior and livened it up a little.

A lot of the work that I have done so far is transitioning some things from the JK to the 392.

First was to move the Winch Across.

  • The winch is a Warn Evo 12s which I have been using for a year now.
  • While I was going to be working on the front bumper, I ordered a Warn Low Profile Grill Guard from Amazon
The install took some time due to the summer heat in Dubai, only had a few hours in the morning to work on it before the heat was unbearable.

After a little persistence and a few lessons on the difference between the JK and the JL, The final product was well worth it.

Don't mind the crappy pics, took them off a video.

Picked up a set of Baja Designs LP6 Pro's in Amber to light the way when I get lost at night. I've always liked these lights and was thrilled to finally pick a set up.

The wiring was the hardest part of this. The wiring harness provided is made for a large truck, so had to cut it down to size so it would fit the wrangler correctly.

The wiring also needed a bit of a trick to wire it to the Aux Buttons. Thanks to Mebar Auto in Dubai for the lights and for explaining the wiring to me.

Just prior to wiring up the LP6's I picked up some graphics from Underground Graphics in Houston, Texas. I have to hand it to Greg and Lilly from UG. They worked with me even though I was international and made sure I got exactly what I needed.

The work was really great and got a local shop in Dubai to install them. As much as I like doing things myself, I have no experience with this sort of stuff.

looks great!!!!

All of this sort of happened at the same time and catching up on the posting.

  • Wheels that I currently have are Fuel Zephyr Beadlock Wheels, 17x9 (These were on the JK)
  • I had them wrapped in 35" BFG MT KO3's which I would transfer to the 392.
The wheels looked a bit tired and needed a colour change. Took them to EFR Motorsports in Abu Dhabi as they use Prismatic Powders. I wanted to keep with the gold theme of the 392, and thought it would match the Amber BD LP6's. Finally settled on the Prismatic GoldTastic, with a Black Beadlock Rim.

I never knew how much prep work went into powder coating wheels, its quite a process to watch and go through.

In order to handle the weight, I had the local distributor for the Teraflex mount the Teraflex Alpha HD Tire Carrier. (I believe it's a bit stronger than the Mopar one, and will have accessories in the future)

Overall, I am very happy with it, but I'm still not convinced on the wheel colour, what do you think?

Very nice. I like the color. Was thinking about doing that with my Stingray.

Still moving things across from the JK, I continued with the ARB Twin Compressor. I chose to mount it under the seat using a bracket from Ramy Automotive, a local Dubai based shop.

While I was at it I picked up the ARB Pressure Control System which seemed like a good idea to control the pressure. As it uses an air manifold, as long as all the lines are the same size and length, I should be able to create a 4 way tire inflation system, all managed from my phone.

I cleaned up all the wiring from the JK, and sent the ARB compressor for a service, made sure everything was ready to install back in the Jeep. Using the internal Aux connectors under the passenger footwell, I was able to get it all connected up.

The pics are a bit crappy as I pulled them from a video, will snap better pics at a later stage.

I think that would work really well on a Stingray car. I love Stingray, I think its very versatile, and you can add a wide array of colour to it and make it look good.

Build looks great and will be great out there in the dunes. Thumbs uo

As we did not get the 392 with the XR Package out here, I wanted to bring a few elements over from that package. I know the XR Fender flares have a love/hate relationship in the Jeep community, but I am one of the people that really likes the extra "flare" that it brings.

At a later stage I will regear to 4:56 as well, when I lift the car and move to 37's.

It is also practical in the Dubai area as our tires cannot be outside of the fender too much, so these flares will help me when going through car registration.

I picked these up from MoparOnlineParts.com for ~ USD 50. These guys were super easy to work with, I had an error with my order where they sent me 2 Right Rear fender flares. I sent them an email and without a question they sent a new part out to me, with a shipping label to return the duplicate part. Was super easy to work with them and the support was great. (This is my experience)

Super simple install, just pull out the original plastic rivets, add the fender flares and install with the new plastic rivets. Took me less than an hour I believe.

Great details as usual @Rogue ! In my 24 years in the US Navy I made 4 deployments on aircraft carriers to the Middle East and therefore have been to Dubai 12 times. All of my visits were just 3-5 days or so and I spent much time relaxing by the hotel pool with some drinks. I find it interesting that you are there and able to find semi-custom parts for this unique Jeep. Obviously there is more money than God has there but I would have thought it would be a huge challenge to do the mods you have done.

I also have an LJ and am very active on the TJ forum and there is also a member there from Dubai. What I find most interesting from him is that he is able to leave his tools out in the open in his parking garage of appartment. No one messes with them. Very though on crime there and that seems to work.

The weather has been getting better out here, so decided to take the 392 out for a bit of a drive through the desert. Here are some pics.
