What are you replacing it with? I'm not entirely satisfied with the Alpine sub myself.

I fell down the rabbit hole on the stereo... installing everything new (except the head unit). Two new JL amps with DSP, fiber signal feeds, Focal 3 way components up front, Alpine 6x9 in rear bar and then two JL Audio Stealthboxes (one on each side). The JL Audio TuN software is what won me over.

Now I just have to finish the installation... I'm about 25% of the way done. LOL

Checking in on this install. Any pics of the JL Audio Stealth boxes in the rear?
Do you love it? Worth it? Thx!

Really want to see this! Do you have the part number needed for the replacement panel on the right? I'd like to do this as well but haven't gotten around to it.

Here’s a pic. Still waiting for the carpet piece.

The entire upgrade was worth it for me… the sound stage and imaging is amazing. The two 10” stealthboxes can be pushed pretty hard and fill the cab with bass. The best part is everything looks stock.

I've been a JL audio fan for awhile now, and had their equipment in my last jeep, including a stealthbox (which I loved). I did all my own configuration for all my system manually, and after a few years with the same system, I knew the gain, center, q, and crossover frequency settings all by heart, since they'd get reset every time I lost battery power, haha.

This is the first I've heard about the TuN Software... it looks SO cool. This is the kind of software any audio person has wished for for car audio for a longgg time.

I went down the youtube/forums rabbit holes for JL Audio setups for the Jeep JL a couple months back, but then set it aside since my jeep was months away from delivery. Now that it's getting close, I'd better start brushing up again. I want to know EVERYTHING about your setup, haha.

The dual stealthbox setup looks amazing. I'm also leaning towards not swapping the head unit just yet. Do you have any references you used handy that you can share? Or, if you're up for it, would you mind telling us some details about what you did?

Thanks a ton and congrats on what I can only assume is an incredible sound experience in your incredible jeep!

I'm happy to share... I went through 3 different upgrades in about a month's time. LOL

I went with the Focal Flax Evo 165F3E for the front stage. It requires the adapter boxes for the knee speakers to make them support a 6.5" driver. The rollbar speakers I replaced with Morel 6x9 (with an adapter kit) as they seem to produce more midbass than most other 6x9's.
The head unit is stock, and I installed a PAC Audio adapter that feeds fiber optic to the JL Audio fiber hub and then to the two JL VX700/5i amps (mounted under the front seats). One amp feeds the front tweeters and midranges and one of the 10" stealthboxes, and the other feeds the front 6.5" midbass and the 6x9's and the other stealthbox. Every speaker is on it's own channel, which means complete control of timing, EQ, crossover, etc.

My local JL dealer has one of the JL Maxx tuners... it uses 5 microphones in your vehicle and does auto tuning of everything automatically. I will probably have them do it on my system, once I get some free time. LOL

Ok yea that's awesome. I assume you ordered the non-sub replacement piece for the right side from the dealer? Did they give you a part number? I have 2 12's in a custom box inside the seat of my 1998 TJ and I love it. It's overkill but I'm an 18 yr old trapped in a 44 yr old body. It was I stalled probably 10 years ago but still works well. We rarely use the TJ but it's nice to have. The sub is huge compared to new ones lol
