2024 Jeep 392 Final Addition
Hello, quick question, I've been reading that if we were to upgrade to 37" tires, we would need to install 2" bump stops on the rear axle, is this also true for the Final Edition models with the factory added 1/2" lifts?

Bump stops control how far in into the fender the tire con go when flexed while lift is how far the tire is away from the fender when stationary. Therefore lift height doesnt negate bump stop needs. Just make sure you don’t install so much bump stop and you are riding on them.

That being said I am not sure about the 2” (seems like a lot) I installed the metal cloak duro spring bumps when I was running 37’s and 38’ and didn’t get any rub but also had aftermarket inner fenders with the OEM inners removed which I would recommend for looks and clearance.

I put 37s on my 2021 392 with stock suspension and had a pretty good amount of rub when off roading or hitting speed bumps in town. Driving down the street was no issue. I added the 2" blocks that the stock bump stops bump into under flex and no more rub in the rear fender liners. I also had to add some 2" RC wheel spacers to prevent rub at 90% turn to the left. After those 2 mods, zero rub on or offroad in any scenario. Mod costs were <$300.

Even with 1/2" more lift, I suspect you will still get a little rub. But it's super easy to get those parts and fix it if you want to try and get away without them. Worst case is you find out you have a little rub and have to get those parts to solve it, which is easy and inexpensive. You can still drive around town with pretty much no issue until you get the parts, but only if you need them.

Thank you for this, I’m getting the 37s today and will see what needs be done.
Good stuff

I put 37” KO2’s and installed a $90 set of 2” bump stops on the stock XR suspension. No rubbing, no issues.

Thanks for the response, Im looking to get the spacers. Thanks for the feedback

Do it right and flex with everything disconnected and set bumps up from there. There isn't a need to lose travel based on guessing.

Yes, you would remove the stock 1in rear bump stop pad extension and add a 2in bump stop pad extension. So you are only adding 1in of bump stop pad extension for the 37's if that makes since. I have this set up on mine and it works great with 37's off road.
Nothing is needed additionally for the front bump stops as the factory 392 bump stops are crazy long from the factory.
I am planning to swap to 38's shortly and will be interested to see if I will need to add any length front or rear once I finally have them on.
