While it’s interesting it doesn’t do much for me. Just complete overkill. The regular Z06 is way too much for the street. This will just be completely unusable and most likely won’t even be able to put that power to the ground until high speeds. For a track car yes it’s amazing for the street eh.

I agree that it will be impossible to hook up at lower speeds. Think they say you can go from 80 mph to 150mph and back to 80 mph in only 20 seconds. Imagine the pull from 60 mph on, would be insane.
I’m currently driving a 2016 Z06 and it is stupid fast. Such a thrill to drive.
There is so much technology built into these car to help a modest drive control 650hp, 650 torque in a 3,500lbs rocket.
I’m reading estimated msrp on the 2025 ZR1 to start $180,000. If you are a Corvette guy to your core, can you really not buy the previous only dream of a mid/engine 1,000hp+ Vette? My hope is they will eventually offer an AWD version so that power is more usable at lower speeds. If they do, the temptation will probably win out. Next would be the maneuvering to actually get one.
One thing the new 2025 ZR1 should do is eventually make the new Z06 more affordable.

I have a base 1lt 2024 stingray coupe. It's the best value around $70k. I'm fed up with the Z06 prior market adjustments and being double the price and now this zl1 probably triple the price and around $200k.

Beautiful car. Bet it hooks up with engine in rear.

I love these cars. I've owned multiple ZR variants dating back to a 91 LT5, which served as my daily driver for many years. However, I continually would find myself walking past these cars to drive something more comfortable, so I parted ways with them.

The C8 Corvettes have my attention for the reason mentioned above. But in Colorado, with our winters, the 392 Rubicon is more my speed these days. And it being an instant convertible (SOT roof) when the weather is nice is an added benefit.

A 1064hp Vette would be as silly as someone putting a v8 in a Jeep.

Definitely better than I expected and better in so many ways compared to other sports cars I've driven and my kids really love it as well and it's an eye catcher and people usually mistake it for an exotic like a Lambo or Ferrari.

I drove a C8 Z06 today.
Seat of the pants acceleration/pull/feel… C7 Z06 vs C8 Z06 from 45mph to 100mph feels very close. The C8 Z06 may be quicker, a little, but it’s so smooth I can’t tell.
C8 Z06 feels more refined, smoother.
I’d say, with the pedal on the floor, the new Z06 feels more in control.
C7 Z06 feels raw, powerful, rude, in a good way.
The dual clutch transmission of the new Z06 has to be driven to believe. Instant, both up/down. I will say the sound of a V-8 at 8,600 rpm’s is compelling.
C8 is a smoother daily ride while in Tour mode compared to C7 in same Tour mode.
Both are amazing cars, but definitely different.

As for the 2025/2026 C8 ZR1… the pull from 60mph to 120mph+ is where the difference will be. 0-60 probably not much different, because as you know, only so much two tires can hook up.
Would not be surprised if first year release will sell for $300k+.
Not me.

While agree with this in theory I don’t I practice. As all the power can be used in the Jeep at all times and you’ll not be doing jail speeds. The best thing about this wrangler is the availability and use ability of that power. It makes it an absolute blast. Had a 19 Z06 and while it was fantastic at the track and in the mountains. It was just way too much for the street. Couldn’t put the power down until you were in almost triple digit speeds. This ZR1 just takes that up to 11. The older I get the less interesting all that non usable power gets. I will say the C7 Z are the most beautiful in my eyes of all the modern corvette.
